I needed a basic work journal/notebook like this (approx. 7 x 10, lined, and hardback) with very few additional requirements, so I didn't realize my expectations could be exceeded, but they were. Arrived unprotected in a box with 3 other unprotected items and this was the only one undamaged - pretty durable (I just ordered a different brand hardback journal and it arrived totally dented). The date/days at the top are awesome, the little weather icons I could actually use (we record rain days), lays flat open, and I love the matte finish of the cover. (I got the dark green and it's really gorgeous.) The binding seems like it will last as long until the pages are filled (my current journal by Journalbooks?, I believe, has come apart from the binding after some abuse over about 18 months). Great price, I will actually come back to this brand for personal journals in the future, I really like this and can't wait to start using it. ... show more

I use this notebook for writing my daily journal. I like the "firmback" (what I call it; not quite a hardback) cover, also the ribbon bookmark and the stretch ribbon to hold the book closed. There is a folder on the inside back cover for storing notes and etc. I use it for storing journal entries for later add when I don't have my journal with me. Each page has a space at the top for inserting a date; I use it to index the first full entry on each page by its date. The paper is of a heavy stock. I would've preferred paper slightly less heavy, but it does have the advantage of resisting ink bleed-through. One thing that should be added is a lighter area on the spine for writing in a title of the notebook; white markers are difficult to find. This notebook sits well on a bookshelf. All in all, this is a good product I can recommend for journal writing and composing. ... show more

This is a nice journal. Each page has a header with little weather icons, the days of the week, and space for the date. There are a lot of pages here. It is college-ruled with 31 lines/page. Once you get a few pages into it, the journal will lay open. It isn't quite flat but it is better than having to fight to keep the pages from flipping closed. The faux leather cover feels nice but easily shows marks from pretty much everything that rubs on it - fingernails, something you set on top of it, even forceful presses of your fingers. Mine arrived with a small worn-through section on one corner of the cover. This is probably a manufacturing issue, not something that was picked up in shipping. ... show more

I am a paper/notebook snob, and absolutely love this notebook. The size is in between US Letter and A5, which is perfect for my bullet journaling and note taking. The paper is nice and thick, without being obnoxiously thick. The amount of pages that come in the notebook is great as well. I don't like having to change notebooks often, and having 300 pages in one book will keep all my thoughts together for quite a while. The cover is well made, and the elastic and pocket at the back are well attached, and will hold up to the abuse I'm sure they will sustain in the coming months. I use a Sharpie S-Gel .05 pen, and there was a bit of ghosting on the pages as I wrote, but not as much as other papers/notebooks I've used. All in all, I would highly recommend this notebook for anyone looking for a good quality notebook for less than the name brands. ... show more
