Hard shell but expandable; with careful packing and vacuum bags, I intend to have at least two weeks of carefully chosen outfits for a European trip fit in here. Meant to fit in overhead compartment or under seat in front, if it has to be checked, it has a built-in TSA-approved lock. Is very lightweight, moves very easily thanks to the four wheels, ingenious interior design includes outlet for a power bank (that you'd need to supply). I'm sick of dragging around heavy overpacked luggage and now paying extra to check just one bag. This also looks more expensive and higher quality than the price tag would indicate. It even has its own luggage tag for your address or destination. Haven't used it yet, but am looking forward to combining it with cleverly designed "personal item" carry-on, and will pay extra to board first so I can put this in overhead. First thing I noticed was how smoothly the wheels operate. The color is as advertised. The zippers worked smoothly. The combination lock was easy to set. It has a number of nice features. You can lock the computer section with the main section or leave the computer portion unlocked for your use. I am a packing cube traveler. But I appreciate all the extra pockets and straps in this set.There is the cooler bag built in to the outer compartment. There is a built-in pocket for your laptop. There is a special pocket provided for your power bank. You place your charged up power bank in this pocket. There is a USB cable provided for you to plug into your power bank that is connected to an external USB port on the top of the suitcase by the locks. Straps on the inside and outside to secure your belongings. Two very nice metal name tags, one for each bag. They are attach to your suitcases via metal cables. I will confess that I thought the suitcases were not very sturdy. But I checked to see what they are made of. It says ABS + PC. They are considered to be particularly durable plastic polymers. So there’s that. The little bag has a nice adjustable shoulder strap. The little bag does not lock. It will definitely fit under the seat. It will serve as my one personal item/purse.Main bag has the zipper to allow for a little more packing space. Having the front area for the cooler, laptop, and power bank leaves less space on the inside. But you can certainly use it for something other than those items. There is a strap on the back of the little one that will easily hook onto the telescoping handle. The telescoping handle operates very smoothly as well. It looks like a good carry-on to me. I will use it for the first time tomorrow. Don’t plan to check it. Last trip, my luggage was lost. So I am shifting to only having a carry on. We will see how it goes. ... show more

I like this suitcase, but it's really heavy when it's got clothes in it. I'm a tiny lady, so maybe it's just me. I would rather have something a lot lighter, but all in all, this should work for other people. I'm going to use it for emergencies in case of evacuation from a fire or whatever. It's an attractive set, and has some great compartments. It's worth the money spent. ... show more

I bought this luggage set for a last minute decision to fly to a celebration, it looks small, but holds everything, and it fits in the carry on bin. The small bag is perfect for a personal bag, unless you carry a purse of course. The small bag held 2 toiletry bags and some toys and treats for my grandbaby. It is durable and rolls in many different ways so hauling multiple items was really a breeze, and the lock is wonderful.
