This works well with the mid century look I’m aiming for in one of my rooms. Shelves came well protected and mounting brackets were wrapped in bubble wrap. Some of the brackets have some sloppy welds on them but not so noticeable when mounted. Speaking of mounting-the drywall anchors are enormous so had to go to local hardware to find something more size appropriate that’s not going to leave unnecessary gaping holes in the wall. These are great, beautiful… but the shorter screws that screw the brackets into the board are Way too small. They need to be a bit longer to be able to get a better grip on the board. Mine ripped out once while installing, and not because a ton or pressure or anything was put on the board. Luckily I decided to go with the brackets under the board so even if they do come off again… it won’t drop my Switch off of the shelf. ... show more

I like these shelves, and I think they are a good buy. The gold finish on the brackets seems durable, and the shelves themselves are real wood, not MDF, very smooth and with a quality enamel finish. Although I was doubtful that one screw on each bracket was sufficient to attach the shelf to the wall, it seems fine. The mounting holes on the brackets sit about 15.5" apart, which means you have a decent chance of mounting the shelf on 16"-centered studs, not just drywall, IF the studs line up where you want the shelf. I did find it odd that the set came with no instructions, and that the screws were black rather than gold or brass. Counting the two types of screws included confirmed that the two-hole legs of the bracket are meant for the shelf-board and 4 short screws, while the single-hole legs meet the wall and use the 2 long screws. But why use flat-head screws if the holes in the bracket aren't countersunk? I took a countersink bit to the holes (and I'd recommend pilot holes in the wood shelf), after which I was impressed with how firmly the short screws seated into the wood shelf. These are decently handsome shelves, but my interest was in their utility. So far, I've used one shelf in my utility closet to keep my cleaning tools handy, and another of these shelves now increases my storage space under a bathroom sink. Installation is easy, but it would have been easier if the shelves had come with the four holes for the brackets already piloted. ... show more

    • Pretty & easy to assemble
These are quite pretty, easy to assemble (which I tend to avoid when possible) and add a nice touch to a small area. I was hesitant at first that they wouldn't hold weight but they have held up in our small laundry room. I do love the white/gold combo and would enjoy seeing a natural wood option! If you are needing small decorative shelves I think these are a great option for the pricepoint and could go with a ton of decor styles. 100% recommend. ... show more
