  • Nice looking product
Size: 12'×16’ Color: Gray
Shipping, skip this if you don't care about shipping - I had some significant issues with the shipping. The product is packaged in 4 large boxes, 3 of which are fairly large and over 100lbs each. This causes a problem with the warehouse workers and drivers who do not want to handle boxes that large and heavy. My first box arrived on the correct day but it was busted open and the parts were coming out. At that point the tracking info told me that 2 boxes had been delivered (only 1 had been delivered) and that the other 2 boxes were still supposed to be delivered on the original day, which they weren't. With no updates in tracking information, several days later I received 2 boxes, one of which was also busted open. My tracking info now claimed that all 4 boxes had been delivered, but I only had 3. I filed a claim with Amazon and FedEx. The seller did contact me regarding the tracking and Fedex later updated the tracking to show 1 box was not yet delivered. The tracking info then showed the last box sitting at the same warehouse for about a week until I received a notification that the last box had been delivered to the wrong address. I again filed issues with Amazon and Fedex. I'm not sure how, but the last box actually showed up later that same night. Unboxing - There are a lot of pieces, have a decent sized area to lay out your parts. Many parts have labeling stickers, many stickers will no longer be adhered. I had a few pieces with small dents, the worst being one of the legs and the top cap piece. None of the dents were a deal breaker for me. Assembly - I bought the 12'x16' version. I was able to assemble this project in 8 hours by myself at a moderate pace, it is a day long process. I did require some assistance with part "J". I had a large sun blocking umbrella with a base that I used to prop up part "J" while I tied the 4 corners together. The rest was easily done by myself. Make sure you hand start every screw, some of the threaded inserts in my kit were faulty and came dislodged. Read the other reviews, you will have this issue with the inserts as well. Using a drill/driver to start your screws will drastically increase your chance of dislodging your inserts. You could potentially use self tapping screws if some of yours come out as well. The roof panels are where you will likely face the most issues, I had to trim 2 of them with metal shears, roughly 3/16" off on the top factory notch. The roof panels will require a little patience and maneuvering for everything to line up correctly with the factory holes. Overall I'm happy with the assembly instructions and the quality of the materials. Appearance/Quality - It looks goods, and I'm picky. It's a sturdy enough product for what it's supposed to be. There's a small gutter system and the water runs down the outside of the legs. The curtains look good and run on the track smoothly. The bug netting is great and also moves easily. I added a ceiling fan/light and LED strip lighting (I ran the electrical through the hollow leg to separate switches installed on the top/inside of the leg). Seller communication - The seller communicated through this process and helped to resolve issues. ... show more

  • Great value, sturdy construction
Size: 12'×16’ Color: Gray
So after reading all the reviews here about this product, I hesitantly placed my order for a 12x16 unit. As others experienced, I too received my order on two separate days. 5 total boxes clearly labeled. One was slightly damaged. However, the company does a pretty decent job of packaging with thick rubber for corners and each piece individually wrapped in styrofoam for the most part so nothing was damaged inside. I laid the pieces out on my deck where it was to be built and used. My son and I put this together in about 5.5 hours of solid steady progress. The instructions are pretty good with pictures. Most of the unit is assembled with the exact same screw so that made it easy as well. People had mentioned needing rivet guns and or tin snips to make the roof panels fit. I did NOT need either. Each panel has slotted screw holes to adjust the overall layout to get it right and not need any trimming. Best advice is to take it slow and steady and pay attention to the small details. Have an extra person to help you lift the long pieces into place. ... show more

  • Very nice, but assembly is not for the faint of heart. Buy a rivet tool and some metal shears.
Size: 10'×12’ Color: Woodgrain Grey
Update: Added a star for excellent customer service. They saw my review and asked how they could improve the instructions and compensated me for difficulties We bought this instead of getting a carport for our UTV. I am happy with the assembled product. It is very attractive and seems sturdy. I plan to poor some concrete pillars in the ground to bolt it too. The assembly was hell though. Don't get me wrong, it's worth it, just be prepared. Absolutely use a drill with an allen wrench insert. It took me 11 hours with my wife helping with two of the steps. The pieces are well labeled and I laid them out first. I did find the S2 pieces inside one of the C pieces though. The instructions tell you to check inside the A pieces, but there was nothing there. It is really easy to cross thread the bolts and once you do, you just have to force them in. In a few spots the little thing the screws screw into break loose and you can't tighten or loosen the screw anymore. When that happened I drilled a hole and put in a rivet. There's one step where you have sets two 'A' legs connected with 'arms sticking' out and you are supposed to stand the whole mess up and connect them together with the L plates. This was really hard and the wind completely bent several of the arms and ripped the 'nuts' out of the legs. The first time this happened I drilled the installed rivets out of the 'A' leg, put a sheet metal plate behind it and held the 'nuts' in place with needle nose while I put the screws in. I saw another 'A' leg had one of its 'nuts' partially ripped out and I realized it was easier to just use my rivets rather than the plate method. On our second attempt to do this step, we did it upside down (duh) on the ground instead of in mid air as the instructions showed. We had to be really careful flipping it back over though to avoid ripping out the nuts. I think it would be smarter to do it upside down and install the angle supports before uprighting it. Other issues: On the top little roof the image did not make it clear which way the edge pieces were supposed to be oriented. I had to redo them when I got to a later step. There are several steps where you are supposed to mount these 'M' pieces over to edge pieces. To do this you have to line up 4 holes and get a screw in while being on a ladder. It was very hard. One one spot I could not get them to line up and had to drill out one of the holes bigger. When putting on the lower roof pieces, there is no way to reach the top most screw from a ladder. I had to do it from the inside and snake my hand out over the roof. It was hard to get the screw started. On the small roof, one of the 'F' pieces just would not line up. I had to make three cuts with metal shears to make it work. I was putting on the last piece ('R'?) and it was completely missing a hole to line up with the screw underneath. ... show more
