Need small oven proof dish. Otherwise a great kid's craft.
Color: Colorful Swirl
The bowls were smaller than I expected which wasn't really a problem for a kid's craft, but it was a challenge to find appropriate oven proof dish required to shape the bowl. I used the kit with my 12 year old grandson, and 9 year old granddaughter to make jewelry bowls for their mother's birthday. T
he only oven proof dishes in my kitchen small enough were custard cups and small ramekin with straight sides, which are not as pretty as jewelry bowls pictured on the box. They used the ramekins and I draped the third one over the outside of a custard cup, which worked fine. The colors are very nice, the clay was easy to work with, the glitter and metallic paint were a nice final touch. I am not sure if they are going to use the gems, but nice to have that choice. Kids painted their names and year on the bottom, I recommend this kit for kids (and I enjoyed doing it), but be aware of the challenge in finding an appropriate oven proof dish for shaping the bowls.

Cute!!!Works exactly as expected! Perfect.

Ok. I am NOT an art teacher...but if you think this is going to be like a fired piece of clay...it won't be because it isn't that type of clay. and need to use that type or clay and purchase a kiln if that is what you're expecting. This works VERY well for a kids craft...exactly as stated. It isn't e
xtremely difficult for age 8 and up. Ours sat in the mailbox all day in the heat and we did it immediately which made the clay nice and soft or pliable not at all hard. We also used the airfryer vs. The oven to bake it. It worked great. I think this is a very cute little project that turned out exactly as expected. Maybe not at a "professional" level....but remember this is a kids craft. Compared to other kids crafts we have used ( and we have purchased many) this is definitely one of the better ones. Very pleased. Paint was not hard nor was the clay. Hardened fine once cooled...I baked it in the airfryer at 300° for 25 min. I plan on spraying ours with a little spray lacquer to give it a sheen and protect it. We made some earrings out of the left over clay as well. ;)

I bought this as a project for my granddaughters to make for their moms for Mother's Day. I will give you three direct quotes from the children. "You should call the people who made this and tell them that it is NOT kid friendly." "The box should say this is for children with muscles." "Grandma, you
should tell them you want your money back." Unfortunately, I fell just outside the time limit to do that. We tried softening the clay repeatedly and I finally wound up rolling the "clay" out between waxed paper with a professional rolling pen and it was DIFFICULT for me, so I could see why the kids could not do it. The stamp ink was dried out and unusable, I could not even get it to reconstitute. After looking online, it looked like Walmart would have ink so we wasted our time going there. We finally settled for painting the stamps and making it that way, but honestly, if I had not been teaching crafts to kids for decades this projects would have gone in the trash. EVERY step of the process had problems. I recommend either finding another project or getting the ingredients and doing it from scratch. I would have given the seller an opportunity to make it right but was unable to contact them. (although that could have been my fault, you know - old people vs computer lol)

Fun little project, great price
Color: Colorful Swirl
Cool little kit. Everything is packaged neatly and organized. Instructions are clear and well written. Before you purchase, make sure you have an oven safe bowl - you will lay your clay round in it to make the shape when you bake it. I used my own color glitters and I also only used 1 white clay per
bowl instead of the 2 recommended: I found this made bowls the size of drink coasters and those were the size I was aiming for. They will still be a little flimsy after baking but should be solid and completely dry by tomorrow. Only 2 complaints. First is that I got a florescent orange clay instead of a lavender (or maybe it was the pink?) But they still worked well together. Second is the circle outline on the work mat rubbed off almost immediately, thank heavens they have the circle template. I would totally buy it again though, it was a fun little project that only took a few hours total.

I bought this just for a fun craft to cure my boredom. The clay is pretty hard and takes more effort to soften than the instructions say (had to zap it in the microwave). I was expecting more of a pottery clay but this was very rubbery, when after baking it’s still flexible. Also, the amount of clay
per bowl was a stretch, didn’t give much extra room for error. Still a fun kit for kids though.

It was fun to do with granddaughter and the dishes turned out very nice. The clay was hard to “work “ I had to do it for my granddaughter, and we only got two dishes out of the clay. I also used my own ink pads so the colors were vibrant. It was a great product and I would recommend it for girls.
