This handheld sewing machine works for smaller tasks. I like that it is simple to change the thread, something that always gives me trouble on my larger machine. I’ve been making cushion covers with thinner fabrics, and this mini machine has handled those projects well. It stitches neatly and straight, and it does the job with lightweight fabrics or up to three layers of cloth. You may need to try it first for stronger materials like heavy denim or anything with a waterproof covering, but I've also used it to hem the edges of jeans, and it worked well. Once I got the hang of threading it, everything else was straightforward. It’s not as powerful as a full sized machine, but it works well for me. It is so easy to store.
