  • Misleading claims on the games amount.
Style: Red-blue
Let me preface this by stating, it's an extremely low price for what this is. With that in mind, don't expect nintendo level quality, because it just isn't feasible for a product at this price point that includes a screen. There's just no way there isn't going to be quality compromises made to manage to make this profitable. In this case, the most glaring compromise is the paint quality, where it looks like someone actually did it by hand with a little paint brush. Once you move further in, you'll find the buttons are passable but not quite as springy and responsive as a normal quality controller, which, to be fair, this unit costs less than a modern console controller does, so I can forgive that as well. There is one thing though that I have a harder time ignoring. They claim 620+ games, but when you scroll through the list you'll find that it pretty much repeats itself somewhere after 300. There also isn't a search function in the game list to make easy selection possible, so you will spend some time scrolling to find the game you want to play. Once you have your game up and running however, the unit works fine. Even with its issues, however, there is a ton of bang for your buck here. Sure, it isn't as nice as the much more expensive items with similar functionality, but it is also extremely reasonably priced. You'd be hard pressed to find a more extensive item to entertain yourself during work breaks for this low of a price. For that reason, even with its flaws, I am still willing to recommend this to anyone looking for nostalgic entertainment on a tight budget. ... show more

  • Mostly typical 600+ in one video game system.
Style: Red-blue
I say mostly typical, because it does have a few redeeming qualities. The case that it comes with is pretty nice, it has an actual rechargeable battery and the 2nd player controller included. The buttons are ok quality, nothing like an actual console controller, but you pay more for one of those controllers alone than you would this. The buttons are ok, I've felt worse. They are a bit soft/squishy but actually respond well enough. The screen is ok, not the worst, but again I've seen worse. The games are what I've come to expect, lots of bootlegs/reconfigures of old 8bit era games, some originals even. Though they do start repeating around game 314 though, so it isn't actually 600+ games in my opinion because of all the duplicates. Either way, 314+ games is a LOT to take in. ... show more

  • Wonky, but with real games
Style: Red-blue
A lot of these systems are filled with cheap knockoff games, but this one has actual retro games. The controls are weird (some buttons do different things on different menus, some don't respond at all like they should, I had trouble even starting some games or selecting options on the menu, etc.). And the plastic is cheap, but works fine. Also, it uses old AV yellow-red cables to connect to a TV, so most modern TVs won't be compatible. And it doesn't come with a USB power adapter, just the USB cable. For the price it's okay though. I don't regret it, it's even slightly better than I expected. ... show more

  • Misleading, But Functions
Style: Red-blue
I got this out of a fit of nostalgia and was impressed by the volume of games, although there were tons of repeats. I felt that the case was rather nice and convenient and the device itself was a good size. The system was easy to hook up, however the controllers did not work very well when hooked to the tv. When using as a handheld, it took you back to the start screen when switching games and this quickly became tedious. My child has played it a few times and has had fun. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Style: Red-blue
Plastic case is sturdy enough for a teenager or older person. Graphics are decent and the amount of games is nice. Rechargeable, so no batteries.

  • Very poor quality, misleading games, deep disappointment
Style: Red-blue
Wow, so where to start...the following are all negative points... • This handheld looks extremely makeshift...the colors look haphazardly painted on, and the plastic case feels cheap and hollow. • The buttons are small and do not feel well-situated for a comfortable playing experience. All the games are NES-based, so I'm not even sure why there are 4 main buttons. The games that I played all only needed 2 buttons, so the extra buttons were basically repeats. This really only needs 2 larger, and more comfortably spaced out buttons. Oddly, the extra controller that comes with this item has a much better feeling in both the directional pad and buttons (though it still has 4 buttons), so I'm not sure why this brand didn't just stick with the same style. • There is no earphone jack. I suppose that's not necessarily a huge issue, but this handheld basically has a default loud setting, a soft setting, and a no-sound setting. • Functionality is horrendous. After choosing a game, the only way to go back to choose another game is to press the reset button, which switches back to the language selection screen and the obnoxious loud setting background music. • This handheld advertises itself as a 620 in 1 machine...Looking through the games, many are just repeated (e.g., entry #1 is "Super Mario Bros," but so is entry #314, and there are a bunch of examples of this). In all honesty, I didn't want to take the time to count the number of repeats, but I'd estimate that there are far less than 620 games here. Additionally, a ton of the game entries do not resemble any NES games that I have ever heard of...I'm sure there are some non-US imported games, but it's confusing not to have any of the officially released titles listed (though my guess is that this product is not licensed by Nintendo...though I am unaware of the relevant software emulation laws for this product). • The cable is a micro-USB (included in package), rather than the more universal USB-C. Not a huge deal, but a bit inconvenient. • The battery is dead! I can't charge it at all, and I can only play if it's plugged in. After experiencing so much disappointment, I couldn't will myself to hook this up to my TV (though I assume the pixelation may be horrible). I was tempted to give this a 1-star review, but the carrying case is sturdy and attractive, and I experienced a few pangs of nostalgia, so it wasn't entirely disappointing. ... show more
