  • Does the job for a good price
There's not much to say about this level. It does what it's designed for and it does it for a good price. The bubbles within the spirit levels are easy to see even in nominal light, and the casing fits into the hot shoe on my Nikon. My only real complaints are: 1) the level is a little loose within the shoe and it slides out easily if tipped back (though since you're using this to level the camera odds are that won't be a problem!) and 2) the plugs where the casing was drilled to insert the spirit material are somewhat rough and stick out from the otherwise smooth surface of the level. It doesn't affect the usability of the level, but it makes it feel cheap. However, compared to the much pricier alternatives, this level gets the job done. ... show more

  • Does what it is made to do
I find a bubble level to be a must with a tripod, even one with a built-in bubble level...and this one just works better than the built-ins. The level slides into the hot-shoe of the camera and does what is intended. I find it particularly useful when used with my Gorillapod and a small head. Anyone who has ever used a Gorillapod knows that it is never level due to the flexibility of the legs, so a small head plus this level make for a very nice package. Also,it is handy when hanging pictures. ... show more

  • cheap solution for working professionally with cheap tripod.
I bought this level to use with my DV camcorder (a Canon GL-1). I am an artist who uses video footage in multi-media works. I use a tripod that I've had since the 80's and it isn't equipped with a level. This little 10 dollar device allowed me to get fabulously level footage by sliding it right into the shoe plate on top of the camcorder. A great work-around if you don't have $500 bucks to drop on a manfroto tripod quite yet. ... show more

  • Amazon has this coded wrong and can't be bothered to fix it
Probably a terrific product, but I wouldn't know because Amazon sends this order to Adorama with incorrect coding and description, so Adorama sends you a $10 digital device and splits the $34 difference with Amazon. Had to send it back, because definitely didn't want digital or battery-powered device. Fortunately, Adorama service is friendly and efficient, but still, didn't need the extra trouble to send it back and have further delay getting the product I wanted. I see others have complained about this coding error on Amazon's part, but obviously the problem isn't fixed. In any case, it's overpriced. It's a bubble level. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap one. Fifty billion carpenters can't be wrong. ... show more

  • Bubble Levels
This is my third bubble level. I have had two 2 axis levels both of which weren't accurate. This is the third inaccurate bubble level. This one can be put on in either direction and clearly isn't accurate. I fix the situation by using a "Sharpie" to mark the level lines on the plastic (and remarking as necessary as it wears off) once I have set up the camera focusing on a 4 foot level placed in a picture window sill. I suggest that everyone check the accuracy of their bubble level by a similar technique. You will probably be surprised if you bought a $5 to $10 bubble level. I have never bought a $30. ... show more

  • Bait and switch!
I ordered this item and it came form 47th Street Photo. However, instead of getting the Adorama bubble level they sent the Opetka version. I guess I should have known better since the Adorama is a more expensive item and the one advertised here is the same price as the Opetka. So if you think you're getting a good deal forget it, this is just a bait and switch deal--I won't ever trust 47th Street Photo again. That said the item is OK and probably worth what I paid for it, and it looks like it will do the job. ... show more

  • bubble balance digital camera
this is a bit pricy for what it is, but useful for handheld shots and if your triprod doesn't have balance indicator a good thing to use. nice and compact and seems decent quality..

  • Fits Funny
This gizmo doesn't fit the hot shoe mount. You have to slide it in on one side where it hangs on precariously while you adjust the tripod. It is functional, but you get what pay for.
