  • Heater works well if used sparingly
Color: Yellow (Built-in thermostat)
I’ve had five of these heaters and they’ve all failed. They work great initially but all of mine have quit heating. The last one seemed defective from the start. I actually like this heater as it has a thermostat and heats great for a week or two. I haven’t found another brand that is better, though, so may keep using as long as they’ll replace it when it quits. Update: finally got one that works well. Use it 5-6 hours per day to heat a 10ft x 6ft pool and gets it to 80 degrees so happy with this heater, and it’s worked over two months already. Got two more recently; one didn’t work from the start and the second one would not heat over 71 degrees even after 8 hours. ... show more

  • This heater will shock the crap out of you - Don't Buy.
Color: Yellow (Built-in thermostat)
***THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED*** PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS IMERSION WATER HEATER*** Be warned if you do, do not touch the water in any way when you have this heater plugged in and imersed in the water. Both my husband any I received rather large and strong shocks when we touched the water. I don't think this unit is properly grounded and not suitable to be used as advertised. It is sold and marketed to be used in the water but makes the water unsafe to touch. I don't see how it is being sold as is and should be removed from Amazon before someone seriously gets hurt or dies from an electric shock. I returned this unit promptly for a full refund. We did have another imersion heater before purchasing this one that worked as intended and did not shock you when you touched the water. It just didn't last very long so we bought this as a replacement thinking it worked the same - It did not. For reference we purchased it to use in a hottub, 500 gallon size, and it did not heat the water to more than 84° after 3 days even though the attached thermostat was set to 105 and it was reading a tempature of 107. When we check the other thermometer we have in the tub it was reading 85°. This is when I regrettably touched the water to feel how warm it actually was. Very, very Bad mistake- the shock I received was very intense and traveled up my arm and throughout the right side of my body and I felt it for hours afterwards into the next day. The husband had to test it himself, even after my warning, and felt the same himself - go figure! Anyway I hope Amazon takes this warning seriously and pulls this product from their store. It is a very dangerous product. ... show more

  • It hold the temperature set.
Color: Yellow (Built-in thermostat)
It held the temperature I set. I set it at 158F, tested it with a submersible temp gauge and it read within 1 degree. Heated up 3 gallons of water pretty quickly. The instructions on using this, really lacking. Does not tell you how to set the temp. The temperature settings go up in various increments. They go up about 11degrees each time, and no way to go up to exactly what you want to set. ... show more

  • Great Product - I've Purchased Several
Color: Black
Greta price for a great product. I always keep one in the house and a few around the barn. With colder weather approaching they're a reliable heat source to warm up water for the livestock.

  • It works
Color: Pink (Built-in thermostat)
The item do s what it says and heats up a body of water. However, it is VERY slow doing so. It takes about 3 hours to warm up a bath tube 3/4th full. I gave it a low rating because the item I received was clearly used and the packaging was open and damaged.

  • Dangerous Device - Short Life
Color: Yellow (Built-in thermostat)
I purchase items expecting them to work for more than a month. No Da, I read others concerns like shock hazard, yes, very much so. It can shock you to death if you were to fail in. I have received two heaters now, both have failed. Both progressively create growing electrical current in my spa. I thought , ok, it’s heating well - and it does get water hot. I purchased a secondary thermostat for protection of an overheat. That seemed to solve that concern. As for the amount of electrical current present when operating, it’s enough to kill. I kept it covered and warned everyone. It’s not a safe device. It corrodes quickly, the thermostat then fails, so it looks likes it’s off, it’s still active and water will continue to be heated, until it completely fails. Apparently I missed my 2nd return opportunity to return this 2nd faulty device. Disappointed. I think the fact that it is a deadly device, I and others should get a refund regardless. This is a death causing device waiting to happen. It’s not worth dieing over… many sold, not sure how I would get two bad ones if they are reliable ... show more
