Skin care is definitely not unique to the product but rather to the individual and that my review is very much based on my skin. I have oily, acne prone skin and wanted to try this product after hearing good reviews within the K-skincare community. The smell of is interesting and I can say I've never smelled anything like it but it smells similar to Kikumasamune Skin Care lotion, like a fermentation smell but it definitely lingers and is slightly unpleasant for me. In addition, it is not gentle on my skin and strips the oils off my face which is not really what I'm looking for. This may work for other skin types but I would consider this quite harsh on my skin. I do like the other aspects of how much product you're getting for the price and the fact that it is foaming. The product is still good, just not meant for me. ... show more

I pretty much never leave reviews but this face wash is amazing!! I have very sensitive skin, the past two face washes I've tried (CeraVe and Cetaphil) broke my whole face out after one wash. but this product is so gentle. I use it after the manyo cleansing oil & it leaves my skin feeling super soft, leaves a blurry effect on my pores, AND clears my skin. I wanna buy like 10 more bottles lol give it a try! ... show more

I just recieved this cleanser today, and I like it. I thought it was gonna be stripping for my oily sensitive skin but it didn’t! It’s also kinda fun how foamy it is really makes me enjoy cleansing with this. Definitely recommend for a good basic cleanser!

I wanted to switch off from curology because it is so expensive. I saw this on TikTok for being cheap and really beneficial. This cleanser contains hyaluronic acid, which is awesome for your skin. I love the foamy texture and it’s been kind to my skin. Buy it!

Like many, this has been my HG cleanser for forever now, and when I found out it was reformulated, I was devastated. The reviews about the new reformulation didn’t make it any better but I knew I had to try it for myself before I truly judge it because what works for me, might not work for others and vice versa. For starters, I don’t have sensitive skin nor am I acne prone. I have normal to oily t-zone, with some dry patches on my cheeks during the winter months (I am located in the Southeast USA). However, I do like to use skincare that is geared towards sensitive skin since it’s more gentle and less prone to break you out. The new reformulation is in the blue bottle, same type of foam-like. I did not notice any stinky or horrid smell that made me want to vomit like a few users has mentioned. The dispensing of the foam seemed similar to the old one, if anything, everything seemed the same except... After washing my face with it, I immediately felt a very slight dryness around my cheeks, it wasn’t an immediate turn off for me since I know foams in general tends to dry your skin more and I do get dry cheeks in the winter months. I did not feel like it left me with a moisturize film on my face. It did not feel stripping at all too (besides what I mentioned above). Overall, I would rate this a 4/5, only because the formula has changed. Yet, I understand Japanese brands do like to reformulate their skincare often unlike here in the west. I would repurchase this again, only IF I can’t find anything better. I do think if you’re wary about the new formula, give it a try because it might work for you too, with some slight changes. ... show more
