If you're serious about security, plan on purchasing stronger mounting hardware separately. Overall: This safe is a decent option for basic home security, especially if you have young children. However, for serious gun owners, the weak mounting hardware and easy disassembly are major drawbacks. Invest in some serious mounting hardware and consider this a temporary solution until you upgrade to a more secure safe. It is not ideal for long-term firearm storage.     • Different type of safe than I am used to but a great solution if you have a good place to mount it.
Different type of safe than I am used too but it’s a great solution if you have a good place to mount it. I was hoping to mount it somewhere accessible in my vehicle but it is far too large for that. I will still use it in the house once I have a good place to mount it. Once you place your finger on the reader or enter the code it slams open almost faster than you can get your hand out of the way. Like really fast! I think thats a good thing and it does that if it is mounted vertically or horizontally. Despite the speed it opens, it does so quietly. It has a thick foam pocket that’s adjustable to fit the frame size of the pistol and makes it extremely easy to get a good and proper grip before withdrawing the pistol. There is a small light but not too bright inside. It has a nice finish and comes with the adapter to mount it pretty much any way you would like including upside down, however I don't suggest doing that. If I were to pick some thing that I would like to change would be the beep sound it makes when you place your finger on the reader or the beeps it makes each time you press a number on the keypad. I would rather not have any noise coming from the safe while I am opening it . Especially if I am opening it under conditions that require quick and quiet access i.e. I don’t want the bad guy to hear that I’m opening my safe. That is the only con I can see with it. Other than that it’s a good safe, at a good price and I am happy with my purchase and you should be too . ... show more

    • Great under desk or bedside biometric safe
Spacious and very easy to program access codes and fingerprints. Pin codes work every time without issue and the biometric lock activation is fast and has not failed after numerous tests. The LED lighted interior is large enough for a full sized double stack 2011 or G17 with extended mag but the foam is not cut for a mounted light (easy to modify tho). Also works well for G19 through G26 sizes. Not sure it would work as well for a revolver the way the foam is laser cut but I have not tested it for that and again would be an easy user modification. The under desk drop down mount system (how I am using it on a work station) is easy enough to install but the safe is a bit shaky if you hit it with your knee as it just has a single point of secure contact with the single screw securing it to the L shaped mount. Some additional 3M type tape would fix that issue. The four screw holes on the mount to desk itself are very secure - I used my own pan head wood screws as the safe shipped with 4 drywall screws and anchors. The back up key access is directly up front so it is easy to access - the lock is not pick proof but this is designed to keep kids and visitors hands away from your firearm not really to prevent a thief from figuring out how to open it. Will be picking up another one to mount on the side of a couch in our living room at home where we spend a lot of our time so we have easy immediate access if needed. ... show more

    • Perfect way to keep your hand gun safe & accessible !
This handgun safe is a perfect way to keep your handgun safe & accessible in your home, RV or business. Its easy to mount the included bracket and offers right , left or top mounting options( I got the hanging version ) It looks to be well-constructed and operates smoothly with either the keypad or fingerprint pad. The only criticism I would offer the manufacturer is with the user manual. The diagrams are too small and very difficult to make out details when setting the safe up for use which made the setup take some extra time. I do like knowing my handgun is accessible but still safe from unauthorized/unintended access. I gave 5 stars for good quality smooth operation and a reasonable price even though I did have a slight criticism on the user guide diagrams being way too small to be really useful. ... show more
