Easily the best upgrade for your Ally X. Straight to the point install and calibration is done within Armory Crate. Tension is tighter than the original module. Get it!

Works as described, seem to be a bit smaller deadzone. Still have the ally x biggest flaw, they still snap to the cardinal directions, but not as noticable with the tighter deazones.

ANOTHER ONE. GuliKit does it again! Hall effect sticks for ROG ALLY X. Simple upgrade. Anyone can tackle this with time and patience. Watch YouTube videos if you have any questions. A lot of resources out there. These didn't come with instruction in the box but instructions are on their website. Man these feels so good. Less resistance and feels like I am gliding. I do miss the feel of something pushing back from the old sticks but I'll just have to get used to these new hall effect sticks. Some pointers - when you take the back cover off make sure you take it off slowly. The cable to the rear buttons can pull and break if you pull on the back too hard. Make sure you pull it off slowly. The zif connectors for the cables can be a bit tricky, just make sure you use a thin plastic pry tool to release the clip. Again, slowly. One you are ready to reinstall you can push down the connector with your fingertip. Plenty of squeeze to clamp that down, just push it down gently. Nothing different with these sticks looks and feels the same material-wise. Each sticks comes nicely labeled for L-Left or R-Right. The thumbsticks themselves pop on and off. No screws. Once you have everything put back together, you can calibrate the stick if you want. I did mine just for safe measure. MOST IMPORTANTLY - it is always a good idea to disconnect the battery cable so you don't short your device. This can be tricky but with the right tools and patience you can get it off too. There will be a tiny metall plate at the bottom of the connector. This plate which is the cable retainer needs to be pushed downward and the battery cable can then be gently pried upwards. Then when you're done with everything, place the connector down with 1 hand a plat tool and with the other push the plate up keeping the cable in place. Definitely recommend.     • Worthwhile, easy, and cheap upgrade
If you play your ROG as much as I (and sometimes my family) do, then these are a worthwhile upgrade. To be fair, I have not had issues with stick drift yet. But let me tell you, I have on other devices, and it sucks. Do yourself the favor, and switch your thumbsticks out with these. I had no problems doing so. It was pretty much step by step with help from the internet. Hall effect joysticks offer significantly improved precision and durability. Wear and tear is at a absolute minimum. They are also less susceptible to dust and debris. The only thing I noticed about these hall effect joysticks was the tension. Little more stiff then I remember my thumbsticks originally being. But, hasn't been, and don't think it will be, an issue. ... show more

These GuliKit joystick modules for the ROG Ally X were incredibly easy to install and calibrate. Take the rear off of the Ally X, unscrew each module, unplug them pull them out, reinstall the joysticks, and then just do it all in reverse. Once the Rog Ally X is powered back on you simply go into armory crate and run the joystick calibration in there, and that’s it, you’re done. No buttons to program, no programs you have to download. The only thing I wish is that the modules were a bit tighter. They are looser than the stock Ally X sticks and I like a tighter stick, but I’ll deal with the looser stick if it means no chance of stick drift and more accuracy.
