  • Great cooking set for the gourmet backpacker and companion
While this isn't the lightest cooking set on the market it is excellent for a pair of backpackers looking to do more than just boil water to rehydrate meals. The whole set nests together nicely and there is room left over inside the pot for a Crossover Kitchen Kit . You can also stash some smaller items in the insulated cups to maximize your use of space (we like to store tea, sugar, condiments, and so on). The bag that the kit comes in can be used as sink to keep things clean. The non-stick coatings on the pot and pan seem quite good so far and the pot lid's built-in strainer is very convenient for draining pasta. It's a luxury to have a nice pan to fry up eggs or even fish on a good day. The insulated cups do keep liquids warm for quite a while when used with the lid, despite not having any insulation on the bottoms. Overall this is a great set and we highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Great for a versatile cookset
I chose this cook set because I wanted a set to use when backpacking and when car camping. This set nests nicely and fits decently well in a pack. You will not be able to store a stove or gas within this set. I really enjoy the teflon radiance technology (which is the difference between the bugaboo and the pinnacle) because it cooks very evenly. The pot allows you to boil a lot of water and the pan provides a great option to make pancakes in the morning. I was also impressed at how light the set was for the amount of materials. The handle is able to be removed from the pot and pan which makes it easier to stabilize the pot or pan on the cooking stove. It will take up a lot of space in a pack so it isn't for the light backpackers. But if you've got some room and want versatility it is an excellent option. ... show more

  • I'm going to be short and sweet here. I have an MSR set in steel
I'm going to be short and sweet here. I have an MSR set in steel. This is so much nicer. It is really versatile. The pans are well thought out and it's great that I can keep both fuel and my stove inside the mess kit as well as a few other items like matches, etc. It packs up beautifully and the case actually works as a wash basin for the pans. it is way easier to effectively clean than my steel set which will likely remain shelved for the foreseeable future. Oh, the cups are cool too. I like the lids that allow sipping. ... show more

  • Great non stick coating!
Simple yet effective camp mess kit. Anti stick coating is still in great shape after two years of use (out of those two years is probably been used around 1000-1500 times cooking anything from rice to eggs to soups. Even a cake!) Great size for one really hungry person or two normal people.

  • great cook set for car camping
Great cook set. Wife and I took these on a 4 day canoe trip and we like them. They will be good for car camping and canoeing but are probably too big for backpacking. The pot and pan heat up very quickly so you dont waist gas. I especially like the plastic container that keeps them all together because it seconds as a water pale for doing dishes etc... ... show more

  • Think twice before purchasing.
Pot is warped so lid doesn't fit properly. After reading other reviews this seems to be common issue. If I had it do over again I would not purchase this product. Craftsmanship is less then one would expect for a product as expensive as this. Have three stars because besides the warped pot the rest is excellent very light and fits together as should. ... show more
