I like these ones because they are small and I believe they can retain more water between the gaps because there is less space between them for air flow. They are good just like all the other and work the same way. Hopefully the images I took help you to Decide. Overall this Leca does the job. If you’re looking for perfect spheres then this is not the right one for you. If imperfections are ok or this will not be at the bottom of the pot or you’re just looking for value then this is great. These are great; large bag, good price, reduces weight, increases drainage. The only thing I don’t like is the brown water that comes out after watering. Even many months later after potting. The clay pebbles came mostly intact with only a few broken ones. The outside is more porous than previous brands I have used, but as it is a drainage layer for a bioactive terrarium, I think the texture of the surface will allow for more surface area for microbes and aeration, exactly what I wanted. When I started using this, the plants all got bad baterical growth in the water and rot the roots. No matter how frequently I changed the water. Started sterilizing the clay with a hydrogen peroxide bath before use and this symptom stopped. Otherwise works just fine. Note that the clay balls arent perfect spheres like other brands, they're just random blobs. ... show more

It works but I have to say that this is the fugliest LECA type product I've bought so far. It looks like Pooh💩💩💩. LOL!! But that doesn't matter as long as you aren't using it in a clear container, or you can top it off with a decorative substrate which is what I usually do.
