  • A Nice Little Tank Addition
Pattern Name: Anubias Petite Lava Stone
What pretty plants! I ordered two. They are admittedly a bit smaller than I expected (see photos—I have small hands so they’re a bit less than palm size on most people). However, both plants are bright green and healthy, with roots already creeping over the lava rocks. I have found no snails or other hitchhikers. There may be some hidden but it seems unlikely. They arrived four days ahead of the earliest expected delivery date (on Christmas Eve no less, busiest time of the year for package deliveries) so I know they were shipped promptly. Came in two small plastic bags in a padded box. They also came with a care sheet with info on filtration, substrates, fertilizers, etc—a nice touch. They were delivered bright and healthy; if they die, it’ll probably be my fault (I’m new at this!). Overall I am very pleased and would highly recommend. UPDATE 9/13/19: Both plants are still alive, very green, and growing! One of them has lost a single leaf in the last few months—other than that, NO die-off and they’ve both grown noticeably in the 9 months since I bought them. Highly recommended!! ... show more

  • Was good, Then Bad.
Pattern Name: Anubias Petite Lava Stone
Beautiful plant, and arrived healthy, only complaint is that mine came on a black lava stone instead of red like the picture.. which is kind of why I bought it. Other than that, 4 stars. Addendum: 2/6/18- Added pictures, one taken right after I received it, then just a couple weeks later the plant lost all of its leaves! Also added two pictures of all the other plants doing fine right along side it.. I was happy when this first arrived, other than it was not a red rock as pictured, but a black one.. Slowly but surely the plant withered away and lost all of it's leaves in a healthy and established aquarium, where all other similar plants are doing wonderful. The plant looks young, very small plant on a small rock (beware of this as well), but it's roots were very badly wadded up and the string holding it on was tied horrendously over the leaves amd roots and I believe this may have been a contributing factor to it's young demise. Contacted seller who apologized and asked what they could do, I asked what my options were, and received an email back saying I would be given 10% off my next order. Sorry guys. One star. ... show more

  • Java fern w driftwood will look great on arrival but is doomed to die in a few months.
Pattern Name: Java Fern (S)
The media could not be loaded. ETA: Greenpro customer service is excellent. I received a quick refund for this item because it did not work for me, so I've upped my original stars from 1->3. I still wouldn't recommend this particular item, but I wouldn't hesitate to order from greenpro at all. My anubias nana on lava is beautiful, and my friends' orders from them have all been healthy on arrival and stayed that way. I always wait to post reviews of items, and this is a perfect example of why. My java fern on driftwood arrived looking beautifully healthy attached to a piece of nice driftwood. It was well packaged, arrived on time, and I put it in my nano tank. I got a lot of compliments, it really did look beautiful. That was in mid-July. Unfortunately, since then I've experienced increasing leaf loss from the fern, getting to the point where I couldn't clean the tank without major leaf loss. And today upon removing the driftwood, all of the leaves just pulled out of the driftwood. I didn't know much about aquatic plants when I bought this, other than that java fern were supposed to be hardy and amenable to low light. I subsequently learned about rhizome plants, and their need for the rhizome not to be buried - otherwise it rots. The rhizome is the "base" for all of the leaves, so it makes sense that if the rhizome rots, all of the leaves fall off. So, with added experience, I now know that this product, with the fern embedded in a drilled hole in driftwood, is doomed to fail. I'm extremely dissappointed that greenpro markets this, given that they surely know this will eventually happen, just months after sale. My anubias attached to lava rock is still attractive and healthy. But my distaste over the fern will keep me from trusting them in the future. I hate it when retailers sell you something they know isn't going to last, especially when it's a living thing. I've attached pictures of the the leaves that just fell out and the driftwood with a drilled hole. You can see the rotting from the bottom of the leaves, and the unhealthy stems. I've also included a picture of my tank on initial receipt, just to show you how deceptive initial health can be. ... show more

  • Kinda misleading, Much smaller then it appears in the pictures
Pattern Name: Anubias Petite Lava Stone
Now i don't want this to be a negative review because the product came fast, It is beautiful and healthy. But If I had to state the reason for the 3 star, is that in the pictures it appears to be much larger when compared to the persons hand. Now unless its a child or a person with very small hands its not anywhere near that size. The lava rock is maybe 1" long x 3/4"wide and maybe 3/4" thick its a rock so its not quite that size and the plant on the rock is maybe that big. After looking at the page again I feel kinda gypped. I was expecting something more along the lines of at least twice this size to be a nice addition to my aquarium but instead I am having to try to grow it outside of it first hoping it will survive, so the shock it receives when I do put it in the tank it wont kill it off. TL:DR Very, very small compared to pics Pros: Came fast, looks healthy Cons: To small ... show more
