I purchased this as a birthday gift for my nephew. I’m hoping he will like it. I am totally blind, so I did not know the size of these planets. I was hoping they were at least the size of a golf ball, but they were more like the size of a ping-pong ball. Anyway, I don’t think he will care and that he will enjoy them immensely. He can add the putty and make them glow all over his room. ... show more

I agree with the previous reviewer who wrote that this is toy way overpriced and should be in a dollar store, especially since the "planets" (plus Pluto) are cheap plastic of terrible quality. They don't reflect reality at all. I mean they barely try. I love astronomy and it took me a bit to guess which planet is which, e.g differentiating between the polkadot gray vs.polkadot light-blue marble (Mercury vs. Pluto?), the purple sphere with a blue stripe and white diamonds (Neptune? Uranus?), or the yellow with orange markings or the orange with red... (Venus and Mars?? Saturn, Jupiter and Earth are sort-of obvious). However, I'm still giving this 5 stars. They were perfect as kitschy decorations on my hat for the March for Science 2017. Afterwards, I recycled them as toys for my kittens. Cats LOVE ♥ these planets and I keep buying them as they get lost under my furniture. This is my third set, plus I bought one for a fellow cat parent friend. ... show more

My son is obsessed with planets right now and I was trying to find him figurines to play with. In fairness I didn’t realize these were meant to hang, but nothing showed the size and they’re small even for that. The picture is the mid size planets, Pluto is about the size of my thumb nail. Saturn’s ring also broke tonight and was knife edge sharp. They do resemble the planets well but these are not good for little kids. ... show more
