Description

Adding a line output converter to your car’s stereo system is a great way to get more volume out of your speakers and more clarity and profundity to your music. Many factory stereos included in cars are, frankly, not that good, so many audiophiles opt to install a custom line output converter to connect to their car’s speaker system. A line output converter is a good way to turn a mediocre speaker system into something that really pops. Unfortunately, car electronics and audio equipment are some tricky business and many don’t know the first thing about how car speakers work or how they can install a line output converter. The DBE Specifications Maximum speaker level input: 400 watts per channel Maximum Preamp output: 9.5Vrms / 13V peak Optional Dash Level Control Remote: +0dB / -19dB Frequency response: 10 Hz - 100,000 Hz; ±1dB Total harmonic distortion: 0.01% Signal to Noise ratio: >110dB Input Impedance: 20K ohms Output Impedance: 150 ohms Power draw: 150 mA Recommended fuse rating: 1 Amp

  • Excellent sound quality
I purchased this because my Mercedes has a stock radio with no rca to connect a amp , so after doing some homework I decided to buy this product, after my installation this product works excellent I m running a 2000 watt amp to my 2 twelves and they hit hard with no problem , the only thing I can see on another product is that you can eliminate the remote wire , you need the remote wire on this unit it would be nice to eliminate for less wiring.but besides that easy to install and sounds excellent I recommend this product. ... show more

  • Fah kuh Ghet!
Get action brej, originally had one rubbish loc from scosche bought from local audio shop on Maui. Owner said he swears by that product so I believed it, after wiring it in was left with disappointment as clarity was not there along with a lot of bass frequencies was missing and subwoofer would not get loud. Swapped out the old one with this one and the difference is night and day. The gravity loc produces super clean, clear sound and my sub absolutely pounds now granted it's only 10in sub on 800 watts it's 100x louder now vs with the old loc. Instructions does not tell you how to tune product but what I did was max all the settings out then slowly lower each setting until you achieve your preferred sound. . Also a previous review wrote that this loc only limits output to 100hz. I'd like to clarify that he is wrong because I've adjusted and played through those frequencies and the description says up to 100khz which is why I think he may be mistaken. 100khz is 100,000hz ... show more

  • Amazing value and must buy if keeping factory head unit especially in a newer vehicle
I’ve been upgrading the sound system in my 2012 Camaro while keeping the factory head unit. I have a 4 channel for my door component speakers and a skar 800.1 amp for my sub. With a cheap Walmart Line out converter I was pretty happy with the sound and bass but I had to have the gains on both amps almost all the way up as the cheap LOC only puts out between .6-1 volt, which introduced a static sound when no music was playing but with the music on I really couldn’t hear it but I knew it was there and had to be affecting the overall SQ. I was looking at the Lc2i which is more than double the price of this Gravity one so when I saw how similar they looked I figured it was worth a try. I am sooooo glad I did because this makes such a difference!!!! I still have to set the gains properly and fine tune everything but after installing and playing around for a few songs I am extremely happy with this purchase. I will measure the rca output and come back and edit this later, but if you are unsure like I was because of the name brand just buy it. We will see about longevity but it seems to be pretty good quality so I’m not worried about it. I have been buying a lot of my car audio like this loc, a kappa subwoofer and kappa 6.5 component speakers from this seller Audio Watt store and have been happy with their quick shipping, this item was at my door 3 days after I ordered. Do yourself a favor and give the Gr-dbe a try. Only negative I can really think of is that if you are newer to installing car audio, there aren’t any directions and most likely not much on YouTube or anything either. I already knew how to install a cheaper LOC and I used install tips from people who made videos on the Lc2i which is pretty much identical but it would be nice for the 2 page manual it comes with to have a few instructions on it at least for the bass roll off feature and the auto on for the remote wire. There is a little plastic jumper piece already installed so you DONT need to run a remote in unless you want to then you have to swap that jumper to the bypass side. For 40 bucks I can’t even be mad about that one thing though, good luck and keep on bassin ... show more

  • DO not Buy
Save your money and buy a more expensive interface. This contraption comes with zero instructions and I mean zero. If you dont have experience wiring car audio systems, you will not be able to install this. I have years of experience installing car systems so this was an easy install for me, but without knowing what you are doing, this will be a nightmare and many blown fuses. I bought this specifically to test out an Active Noise Cancelling harness that I installed in my truck. I wanted to be sure the power output and crossover capability were maintained. I have a generic 6 speaker setup with an 8.5 inch display that comes stock in the truck, no extra power was going to this unit except for the 12v form the battery and REM ( which means remote in). This thing overheated within 5 minutes , to the point where it burned the absolute mess out of me when i touched it. Within five more minutes it completely stopped working. While it was working the amount of white noise present in the background with the sound system powered down was absolutely insane. I had all three levels turned to minimum gain and this thing absolutely failed. Seller was quick to issue a refund and it worked as a test piece of equipment but I would rather have no radio than have the horror of this contraption installed. ... show more

  • Works and sounds great when it turns on, but limits incoming signal above 100Hz
I did a fair amount of research into line out convertors, and came up with this one. This Gravity DBE unit Sounds great, but my factory OEM mini sub puts out higher frequency bass up to 250Hz. My after-market MTX subs go up to 250Hz in sealed box, sound great. This unit cuts off all signal above100Hz, so I notice string bass, some instruments missing from tracks all of a sudden after installing. Too bad this did not come with a crossover adjustment that allowed for signal pass up to 250Hz, would have been perfect, but its a large musical loss , as- this is a noticeable loss of that section of the frequency. May have to go with a Kicker KISLOC 2 (the one without the remote wire) instead since it's 20kHz to 20Hz, since my bass amp has its own crossover. ----Update---- The unit is getting picky as to when it decides to turn on or not. Seems to need to sense some level of bass input signal before it powers on. I may have a defective unit, not sure if anyone else is running into this. ... show more

  • Great product
It worked great. Worth the money by far. I would have paid more than double for what it did for me. My hyundai sonata 2017 would hold the amp from its full potential and limit it. So this helped my system and work wonders on it. Thanks
