  • Effortless and Effective Weed Removal Tool
Grampa’s Weeder is an absolute game changer for yard work! The long handle and stand-up design make it so easy to remove weeds without the strain of bending, pulling, or kneeling. The bamboo handle feels sturdy yet lightweight, and the 4-claw steel head is incredibly effective at gripping and removing weeds right at the root, even tough ones. It’s intuitive to use—just press it into the soil around the weed, twist, and pull, and the weed comes out cleanly. I’ve used it on a variety of weeds, and it works consistently well, even in harder soil. The durable construction ensures it can handle multiple uses without any signs of wear. Not only is it functional, but it also feels like a high-quality, eco-friendly tool thanks to the bamboo handle. It’s made yard work much faster and easier, and I no longer dread weeding my garden. Highly recommend this tool for anyone who wants to save time and effort while keeping their lawn or garden weed-free! ... show more

  • AMAZING TOOL!!
Ok, I have so much good to say about this thing, it's a bit ridiculous! I received my Grandpa's Weeder yesterday (one day earlier than expected😍, yet another reason for my 5 star review). I was so excited to use it, that I busted it out today and went to town. I "worked" in my yard for over 2.5 hours. I said "worked" because it hardly felt like the typical weeding work that I'm accustomed to. It was awesome to say the least. I'm sure the novelty will wear off some day, but there were so many audible "wow!", "oh man!", "holy cow!" etc.!! I just kept being amazed at the ease of which this tool makes removing weeds! Here's a little more detail: I primarily used the tool in my lawn areas--where I had hundreds (literally--hundreds) of dandelions. However, there were at least 20 or so weeds I removed from garden areas. I will say that it has rained here (Northern Utah) on and off over the past 3 days. I'm sure that helped the success of the tool. Did it remove all of the root of every weed? No, but I was in awe at how many weeds it got with a 3-9 inch root system. And of those that it didn't remove a good sized root, it still got a decent size. Did it leave a hole after removing the weed (like I had read in a few reviews)? Yep, but I figure those holes are great for aerating my lawn! Was it easy to use? YES! SO EASY!! I'm a 50 year old woman in decent physical shape and I worked for 2.5 hours in my yard today, removing weeds with this incredible tool. This was AFTER I returned home from playing 2 hours of pickleball (intermediate level--making it in and of itself a pretty decent workout). It was actually fun to use....and so SATISFYING! While using the tool, I had two neighbors come over and see it in action. They too were amazed. To one neighbor I admitted that it didn't get EVERY weed root system completely. And then I went on to show her and it went 4 for 4 weeds perfectly! We were so impressed. Can't say enough good about this tool. Very efficient, sturdy, high quality, etc. And I love that I'm supporting a small family business. Way to go guys! I wish I had discovered this tool about 20 years ago! Maybe it hadn't been found and re-produced back then? ... show more

  • This is a Weed Ripper!
This rips weeds out of my lawn! And, there is a certain amount of subtlety to it. Light press with the foot, and it grabs a small weed, and rips it out of my lawn. Heavy foot press, and a big, ol' badassian weed gets ripped out by its roots! That said, it does that, and with a high degree of satisfaction too. But if you have even a small lawn, it really isn't going to get that lawn done because that's too much work for a one-at-a-time weed ripper to get the whole lawn done. Now, if you do a full, chemical, weed clean-up on your lawn, this will be more than enough to maintain that. In any event, I say, go for it! This thing is so sturdy that whatever your age, you could be 18, this, in your family, will always have the potential to be "grandpa's weeder." 'cause it ain't never gonna break, and its always gonna work. If not forever, than two or three hundred years at least. Bottom line, this gives you the ability to out onto your lawn, and rip out some weeds, but with the limitations I have described. ... show more

  • Best used when soil is not too muddy or too hard/dry.
When the conditions are right, this tool does pull weeds well, and does get more of the roots than trying to pull the weed out by hand. The thing is, it’s a lot slower of a process to use this tool than pulling weeds by hand. If you have a ton of weeds, and a strong back, then it’s probably faster to just bend down and pull them. If you have weeds that are more sparse, but maybe they are larger and more difficult to pull, then this tool will help to pull those big weeds out and get more of their roots, without having to bend over or dig with a garden trowel. I like to use this in our landscaping, a day or 2 after a light rain softens up the ground a bit. If your soil is too dry and hard, the weeds won’t come out. If your soil is too wet, the mud just clogs the tines and you need to pick up the tool end and manually clean it out with your hands. It will pull weeds from mud, but it’s a frustrating, messy, and slow process, often taking several attempts to get the whole weed. Watch your weather forecast and then pick your battles appropriately :-). Center the tool over the weed and stick the business end into the ground. Step on the little foot pedal to close the tines, and rock the handle forward to loosen the weed’s root. Pull the weed out and admire your work. Add it to the pile, and then go pull out all its “relatives”, cursing them as you go. It’s almost therapeutic in a weird sort of way, when a dandelion comes out with a half-foot of root still attached to it. There are other such tools, with an “ejection feature” that make disposing of pulled weeds easier and faster than this, but they all pull weeds out about the same. The “ejection feature” would be nice and probably make this a little faster to use on a lot of weeds, but it’s still effective and will keep you from having to bend over and pull weeds by hand. ... show more
