  • Effortless and Effective Weed Removal Tool
Grampa’s Weeder is an absolute game changer for yard work! The long handle and stand-up design make it so easy to remove weeds without the strain of bending, pulling, or kneeling. The bamboo handle feels sturdy yet lightweight, and the 4-claw steel head is incredibly effective at gripping and removing weeds right at the root, even tough ones. It’s intuitive to use—just press it into the soil around the weed, twist, and pull, and the weed comes out cleanly. I’ve used it on a variety of weeds, and it works consistently well, even in harder soil. The durable construction ensures it can handle multiple uses without any signs of wear. Not only is it functional, but it also feels like a high-quality, eco-friendly tool thanks to the bamboo handle. It’s made yard work much faster and easier, and I no longer dread weeding my garden. Highly recommend this tool for anyone who wants to save time and effort while keeping their lawn or garden weed-free! ... show more

  • Ease of use for older arthritic gardeners
Loved the ease of use, especially for those of us with arthritis. This tool made weeding very easy and enjoyable. Time spent was far less (and less aches) than it would’ve been if I had to get on the ground to pull weeds. Plus, it made pulling up dandelions for salad greens great!

  • This is a Weed Ripper!
This rips weeds out of my lawn! And, there is a certain amount of subtlety to it. Light press with the foot, and it grabs a small weed, and rips it out of my lawn. Heavy foot press, and a big, ol' badassian weed gets ripped out by its roots! That said, it does that, and with a high degree of satisfaction too. But if you have even a small lawn, it really isn't going to get that lawn done because that's too much work for a one-at-a-time weed ripper to get the whole lawn done. Now, if you do a full, chemical, weed clean-up on your lawn, this will be more than enough to maintain that. In any event, I say, go for it! This thing is so sturdy that whatever your age, you could be 18, this, in your family, will always have the potential to be "grandpa's weeder." 'cause it ain't never gonna break, and its always gonna work. If not forever, than two or three hundred years at least. Bottom line, this gives you the ability to out onto your lawn, and rip out some weeds, but with the limitations I have described. ... show more

  • Nifty tool.
I’ve needed this for a long time. It really helps with my weeds with very deep roots. My only wish is that the points (tines? needles? business end?) were a bit longer to get those very long roots. It is easy to use, and lots better than bending over and pulling. It is lightweight and easy to store in the closet by the front door for when I find a weed or two but not enough to get out the shovel. ... show more

  • Works like a charm
Hate pulling weeds and this has been a game changer. I still hate it but at least this makes it easier and cleaner. No more pulling. Worth it!

  • I'm of "Grandma" age...this thing works!!!
We have MILES of dandelions in our yard. Every year I attempt to begin clearing the ones I see from the kitchen in our back yard. I have to use a poker and get on my hands and knees and last about 30 minutes before pooping out. I might work on it for two or three days and give up. When I saw a similar tool advertised on social media, I started looking around for something like it. I was hoping for a version made in the United States (this one isn't it's made in China...labeled as PRC). But when I saw the mostly stellar reviews, I decided to give it a try. Besides, the company who sells this version is in Oregon and I live in Oregon, too. I was excited to get it and when it came, I gave it a whirl. WOW!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS THING!!! I can "pull" a dozen or so before having to bend over to pull them up and put them in my bucket. I'm trying to be careful to leave as much dirt as I can so I do work at it a bit but this took is such a knee and back saver. It will get some of the deeper tap roots, but some do break off. I would expect that. Weeds are pesky and come back so it will be a long-term battle but I can now see the light. I can win over these weeds! Thanks for the great, well-made product. Wish it was made in the USA. ... show more

  • Best used when soil is not too muddy or too hard/dry.
When the conditions are right, this tool does pull weeds well, and does get more of the roots than trying to pull the weed out by hand. The thing is, it’s a lot slower of a process to use this tool than pulling weeds by hand. If you have a ton of weeds, and a strong back, then it’s probably faster to just bend down and pull them. If you have weeds that are more sparse, but maybe they are larger and more difficult to pull, then this tool will help to pull those big weeds out and get more of their roots, without having to bend over or dig with a garden trowel. I like to use this in our landscaping, a day or 2 after a light rain softens up the ground a bit. If your soil is too dry and hard, the weeds won’t come out. If your soil is too wet, the mud just clogs the tines and you need to pick up the tool end and manually clean it out with your hands. It will pull weeds from mud, but it’s a frustrating, messy, and slow process, often taking several attempts to get the whole weed. Watch your weather forecast and then pick your battles appropriately :-). Center the tool over the weed and stick the business end into the ground. Step on the little foot pedal to close the tines, and rock the handle forward to loosen the weed’s root. Pull the weed out and admire your work. Add it to the pile, and then go pull out all its “relatives”, cursing them as you go. It’s almost therapeutic in a weird sort of way, when a dandelion comes out with a half-foot of root still attached to it. There are other such tools, with an “ejection feature” that make disposing of pulled weeds easier and faster than this, but they all pull weeds out about the same. The “ejection feature” would be nice and probably make this a little faster to use on a lot of weeds, but it’s still effective and will keep you from having to bend over and pull weeds by hand. ... show more
