I had my GPS mounted in the jeep with a after market device that was very good for a while then it started wearing out and the GPS would be at all angles due to looseness. I had an old Ram mount that I mounted on the dashboard and this was perfect to hold the GPS firm using the one inch ball mount arm from the RAM connector. Now the GPS is quite steady and doesn't move too much during regular use. Only moves when you hit extremely jarring ruts or holes. Regular road usage it stays put. I got this to go from a Ram 1" ball to the smaller 17mm ball size to mount the rearview camera display in my Honda side-by-side. The ball adapter is well made, solid, secure, and is exactly what I needed. Easy to snap in your Garmin. Fits my 1 inch ball arm and mount with no issue. Plastic does not seem as sturdy as my Garmin mount, but a great value replacement.

The measurements are spot on. I was able to use my 1" ball extension on it. I did remove the ball from the plate to use inside my cell phone holder and the 17mm end was perfect.
