I first bought this chair in Light Coffee to fill a nook and act as a convenient spot to plop and change shoes. I've moved and find I've got the perfect spot for a pair and, since it's only been a couple of months, they should wear rather evenly. I ordered the second chair and unfortunately, the one that first arrived had a defect that wouldn't allow me to screw one of the legs in. I sent a message to the company through the Amazon Bot, along with a photo of the problem, and within a day they offered to send me a replacement chair free and clear. I don't need to return the other chair - but I do need to find something to do with it! Perhaps my husband will find a way to attach the leg and we can donate it. I'm writing this review to share my exemplary experience with this company's customer service and to let my fellow online furniture shoppers know that this is a safe bet. It's always a little scary ordering online as you don't REALLY know what you're getting. In this chair, you're receiving a low-profile, stylish, and comfortable accent chair that is a perfect mid-century style. This chair will work with nearly any decor as it has enough presence to function as an accent, but it's over the top MCM. The fabric is lovely! It's soft, not velvety soft, but supple and kind to the skin. The mottled appearance gives it the vegan-friendly look of leather without the expense or upkeep of the real thing! Yet it doesn't feel cheap or cheesy - it's got a rich feel and look that is inviting - quite inviting. It looks far more expensive than the price I paid here! It's very put-together and stylish. And this is perhaps the most important aspect when shopping for furniture - how does it feel? This is also a very subjective area but I'll say that I gravitate to the chair I've had for a few months over my far pricier sofa or other occasional chairs! The seat has enough padding to be soft but (and barrel chairs aren't made for sinking into) you won't get lost in it. My older parents enjoy the chair because they can sit easily, with a seat height of 17", and, more importantly, they can stand back up without asking for assistance. They, like me, find the chair to be supportive and enjoy sitting all the way back to where it hugs us. We're all of average weight and range in height between 5'6" and 6'1". On their last visit, I found my dad asleep after having sat down to read... That also speaks volumes! The seat cushion is separate and has a long zipper circling the back side. This will allow you to change out the padding should it flatten! Let's face it, even the best memory foam does compress over time. Also, if you prefer a softer foam, you can easily swap it in. I'm not above a little DIY with my furniture - especially at such a friendly price point. You'll find spring support below the padded cushion and the company thoughtfully added a long strip of velcro to the casing fabric to keep the seat pad from sliding forward. I'm very picky about furniture. It's taken me months to design and begin to furnish my new home. And, with supply chain issues, it'll be months more before the house is actually furnished! Whether ordering online or from a store, there are delays. However, this chair is available now! I can't tell you what a happy surprise that was for me. Not only is perfect for my space, but it also arrived in just a few days! Now I await the replacement which, with a little luck, will not be flawed. It looks like a machining issue. Oh! Remember that most furniture you order online has the legs and/or hardware cleverly tucked up in a zipper compartment under the seat. With this chair, all you'll need to do is check the directions for which legs go where and screw them into their respective locations. There are levelers included as well. This purchase and company have exceeded my expectations and I'm glad to be doing business with them again. If you're drawn to this chair, I suggest you check the measurements (I often place objects in the space to help me see the visual space a piece will occupy) and, if it works, go for it. It's a quality piece for an outstanding price - and it really looks great in pairs! ... show more
