  • Good to about 20-30x magnification. Too blurry after that to be useful (UPDATED)
Overall, this product does the job I bought it for, but just barely. I can clearly see 22 cal pellet holes in paper at 50 yards. I don't know if 100 yards will be possible. Maybe 75 for sure. It seems decently built and has a nice carry-all case. There are two things I don't like about mine. (1) The objective lens (the big end) was partly unscrewed on mine and a little crooked when it arrived. Since the unit claims to be nitrogen filled, there is certainly no nitrogen in mine now. Not sure if that really matters though. (2) The resolution is pretty mediocre. If you are used to a camera zoom lens or a good pair of binoculars, this is not in that level of quality by any means. Not even close. But hey, that's why it is inexpensive, so I understand. The image is pretty clear at 20x magnification but gets progressively blurrier as magnification is increased. It seems to peak at about 30x. Beyond this, the images gets bigger but also blurrier, and it gets blurrier faster than it gets bigger. I tested this trying to read license plates at a distance on the tripod. I found that I could read the numbers better at 30x zoom than 60 or even 45. All zooms get a little blurrier at higher magnifications, but this is excessive. Since I can manage with 30x zoom for my purposes I am okay. Overall, I think the product would be better labeled if the manufacturer advertised it as a 30x max zoom. Also, remove the suggestion that it is nitrogen filled. It's not a bad product for 80 bucks, but don't try to make seem more capable than it is. UPDATE 4/10/20. The manufacturer contacted me and asked if I would consider trying another sample free of charge. I agreed and they actually sent me a higher quality version, the 20-60x80 instead. This version is considerably better optically than the 60mm version I first bought. The image is wider, brighter, and sharper. If you are trying to decide between the 60 and 80mm versions, my experience is that the 80 is worth the extra cost. It is much larger though, if that matters. Adding 1 star because of the most excellent customer service I've ever seen! ... show more

  • Spoting scope
Love this scope had fun using it when I went target shooting. One negative thing is that when you connect your phone to it moves around because of the weight of the phone.other than that it cool.

  • Good scope for the money.
I wanted to take the time and leave a review in hopes of helping others make an informed decision about this scope. I was looking for a reasonably priced scope for use in target shooting and looked at a few different brands on Amazon. I wanted to stay under $100 and realized that there would be a certain quality hit. I reviewed and teetered between the Emarth 20-60x60AE, the Huicocy 20-60x60mm, Gosky 20-60x60HD, Landove 20-60x65mm and the Roxant Blackbird 12-36x50mm. Although the Roxant got great reviews, I decided against it at the start because I didn't feel it would give enough magnification at 100 yards. The other scopes basically got the same ratings, with comments about decreased clarity at full magnification. With it being a tossup with all around cost and features, I decided on the Gosky. The scope arrived quickly and was packed in a non-descript box with generic information. This initial impression lead me to think that most of these scopes are basically the same manufacture with a bit of branding slapped on. They probably are all churned out of the same plant in China. The first scope did have a manufacturing issue with the front optic being attached to the scope body crookedly. Upon contacting Amazon, a replacement was sent out immediately. Kudos to amazon. The second scope was fine. I took the scope to our property the next week and put it to use sighting in a new 22 scope. The Gosky worked great at 50 yards, providing a good view of the 22 cal holes in the target. I moved it out to 100 yards and was still able to see the shots, but it was definitely at the scope's maximum capability. The attached image shows views at 50 and 100 yards. On a side note, the attachment for taking pphotos with a cell phone is frustrating to say the least, and those looking for the sole purpose of "digiscoping" should look elsewhere. I was able to get some photos for this post and will never use it again! I also haven't used the included tripod as I have a decent camera tripod. It looked fairly sturdy and should work fine for this lightweight scope but you will need to use it on a table top or from a prone position. So for anyone who casually shoots and is looking for a reasonably priced scope, the Gosky should perform adequately. Being under $100, don't expect pristine optics at maximum magnification and you won't disappointed. I hope the image and feedback helps. I wished there were more examples of targets at 100 yards when I was looking for a scope as it would have saved some consternation! ... show more

  • Lots of potential
I wanted to get a multi-use scope. My expectations might have been a bit high, and i haven't yet used the cell phone mount, but let's go ahead and review. Pros - scope is sturdily built and has a nice heft to it. - zooms really well. - tri-pod seems just the right size for a gun range bench. We haven't used it for that purpose yet, though. - Could see Jupiter's moons and Saturn's ring. Can't wait for a clear look at the moon! I'm really looking forward to that. Cons -can't wear glasses. You have to put your eye/face right up to the lens to see. I'm a geek, I wear glasses, so this is disappointing -the tri-pod is my major sore spot. It's too dang short for anything else but range spotting. Trying to look at the stars I have to lay on the ground or the deck. I brought out the card table and still had to get down on my knees which stinks just as bad. The scope appears compatible with standard tri-pod screw mounts, but that purchase will have to wait for another day. - While star gazing or long distance viewing, you really have to tighten up that tri-pod pivot adjustment rod... like to where my wife probably couldn't undo my tightening. If you don't tighten it a bunch it will sag slightly and you lose site of your objective. That seems like it's going to be a fatal design flaw at some point and break down with use. This review might sound a bit on the critical side but it's also a $90 purchase so I did have some expectations. The scope itself is nice enough quality, but I will need to purchase other tri-pods to get satisfactory use out of it. ... show more
