    This shower mat is very expensive. So expensive that I took a chance with a few other less expensive brands first. And those less expensive brands were a complete waste of money. One of them worked so poorly that I just threw it away; it never got used. So I have one complaint about this Gorilla Grip branded mat, and if you haven't guessed by now, it is the price. That's it. My only complaint. Everything else I've got to say about it is pure praise. It grips better than any other brand, it's comfortable to stand on, it's very easy to wash, and it's the most attractive. It comes loosely-rolled, so you don't need to 'train' it to lay flat. Just make sure the bottom of your tub is wet, and then flatten the mat down, and that's it. You do not need to spend time pushing down on every single suction cup. Just use your hand and swipe it down across the entire surface by applying a fair amount of pressure, and it will stay put until you decide to pick it up again and/or re-position it. If you get it wrong and want to re-align it, no problem. Just pull the whole thing up and do it again. It is very flexible and forgiving of any mistakes you might make. I put mine in the washing machine every month or two to get any soap/conditioner/lotion residue off. Wash in cold or lukewarm water, and air dry. Do not put in dryer! No need to, and the heat could damage the rubber. So just buy this brand right away, and you'll be happier in the long run. Buying other cheaper brands will just be wasted money in my experience.     This shower mat is perfect...perfect size, perfect suction, perfect to stand on for safe showering. We have used it for over a year and it is still in perfect condition. You must hang it to dry to prevent black mold from forming around the suction cups. I learned the hard way. Washing it in the washing machine was not a success. However, by using a fingernail brush on it, with the mat upside down in the shower, I was able to remove all the built-up scum from around the suction cups. The happy solution turned out to be to hang it on two water-proof Command hooks in the shower itself. Now after showering, I just pick it up and hang it to dry. I love it and it was a lot more economical than calling a plumber to install a grab bar. My husband and I are in our eighties and now no longer worry about slipping and falling in the shower. ... show more

    I like that it is soft and comfortable to sit on for a long bath. Neutral color is unobtrusive. Stays in place. I rinse it off (in place) with shower after use and have not needed to deep clean it after several months. Footing is very secure now. Thank you for a good product.

But, I also found that, as stated in the discription, that it would not grip to my textured shower surface. I had felt that my surface was not textured enough to keep it from gripping; but, I was wrong. While I would have loved to keep the mat, I had to return it, which I did and received my refund the very same day.
