  • Solid build quality; easy assembly; excellent performance
Color: Red Capacity: 800 Pounds
I'm very happy with this Gorilla Cart. As with other Gorilla Cart products I've owned, the overall build quality is excellent. All the welds are solid, the tires are of good quality, and even the fasteners are top notch. Assembly is very straightforward, with all the fasteners grouped by assembly step. I'd rate the assembly as 100% frustration-free. The manufacturer does an excellent job of packaging the cart, with care taken to avoid items shifting in transit and becoming damaged. Even the threads on the frame studs are protected by rubber covers to avoid damage in transit. Very well done! Maneuverability is excellent. I'm not coming close to the listed capacity of 800 pounds, but given how it performs with a few hundred pounds I don't doubt the listed capacity. A very handy tool to have, and an excellent value, especially if you can catch it on a price dip. But even at the usual price, the better build quality and the much easier assembly process make it, for me, a strong value compared with other brands I considered. Five stars. ... show more

  • Great all around cart
Color: Black Capacity: 1200 Pounds
I have found this cart to be very sturdy and easy to use. I have used it for a wide variety of landscaping work. Carried bunches of long 3" pine boughs, moved a large woodpile (being careful not to overload each batch), bags of weeds, carrying various tools, rakes, pails, etc. It is heavy duty enough and great for me (a 77 year old female) who is not especially athletic. I like the versitility of removing the sides if needed. Attachment to hook up to back of lawn mower is very easy as well as moving the cart by hand to hook it up and move it. Every time I use it, I tell my husband how much I like it! My husband put it together as I'm not good at those things and it was a bit heavy for me to handle. Once assembled It rolls very easily. I probably could have purchased a smaller cart, but I have a very large yard and do my own landscaping. Very satisfied. ... show more

  • Great little cart!!
Color: Green Capacity: 400 Pounds
A friend was borrowing my more heavy duty Gorilla cart, so I picked up this 400lb Green mesh style with removable sides. It was fairly easy getting it put together. I love that its light weight. I've mostly been filling with weeds and roots. I am able to pick it up and dump it with lightweight material loaded inside the cart. But, the sides do drop down. So, for heavier material, I can drop the back panel and lift the front side of the cart to offload. The tires are solid and traverse over my terrain with ease. Its a breeze to maneuver. If you are not a spring chicken anymore or just have a smaller yard, I'd recommend this little cart. The only issue I have is that the latches that hold the panels in place sometimes get bumped out of position. I will engineer something to make that more difficult from accidentally happening. But, I do like that I have the option to remove the side panels and use it as a flat cart. Other than that, Gorilla makes solid products and I am very happy with my carts. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, stable and easy to maneuver. Safety and quality downgrades.
Color: Black Capacity: 1400 Pounds
This is a good cart that is sturdy, easy to assemble, is stable - but lacks important safety features and suffers from some quality in construction issues. Overall I’m generally happy with the purchase, but downgraded the product due to the lack of safety features and the quality issues, and overall feel this was priced fair for what you get. I give this between 3.5 to 3.75 stars on a 5 point scale. Rounded up to 4 stars for Amazon’s limited scale system. The most notable positive aspect that stands out for me was how easy it was to assemble this cart. There are very few pieces involved. In addition to the ease of assembly, the other positive aspects are: 1. the cart is surprisingly stable, 2. It rolls very easily even when loaded (adding a high quality synthetic grease to the spindles - even though the wheels have bearings, makes a notable difference), 3. the cart can be turned at extreme angles without tipping over, 4. the design of the hitch/handle system; it’s very easy to swap between ‘modes’ (hitch or handle) without there being unattached/additional parts required (that can be easily misplaced) - both the hitch and handle are integrated into a single piece that you simply rotate back into the hitch, and then re-pin. In fact, when it’s configured to be a hitch, the handle is still usable without re-configuring. 5. this cart is lightweight, adding to the ease of use. As mentioned previously, I applied synthetic grease to the hub spindles, mainly due to the fact the spindles are smaller in OD than the wheel bearing ID - it’s not a precise fit. I decided that since this was the case that the inevitable movement between the two parts would result in the powder coating being quickly worked away, that grease would both limit some movement and provide a moisture/corrosion barrier to the areas that wear through the powder coating. The result is the cart rolls effortlessly, both unloaded (mainly facilitated by the grease) and loaded. I also applied grease to the steering spindle and on all friction reducing washers during the assembly. Now onto the negative aspects: 1. This cart needs some sort of braking system. Obviously, that would add cost to this cart, but it’s necessary. You need to use chocks when you use this cart because it wants to roll so readily. A redesign of this cart to put brakes on the fixed axle would greatly improve safety, and could be designed to work not just as a parking brake, but function when in motion to better control speeds of heavy loads - especially on declines. 2. The welds on this cart are not the greatest, reminiscent of trade school quality of work. 3. The coating process does not cover all areas completely, and there are numerous areas where the metal is slightly exposes and will corrode. I recommend using a product like Amsoil HD metal protector to spray in all the nooks, open joints and areas where the coating is incomplete or non existent. It dries like a wax film in these areas and helps prevent bare metal from corroding. 4. The metal used is on the soft side. It would have been great if the manufacturer provided a torque spec for the nuts as you can easily crush the material being attached if you use more than light to moderate force to tighten. Do NOT assemble with an impact - you will damage the cart. It’s relatively thin wall metal, with the thin aspect contributing to how light the cart is. 5. There is no mechanical stop for the steering angle. There is no reason the steering should allow 270 degrees of movement (about where the steering arm will hit the rear tire. 90 degrees left and right is more than enough. 6. I personally would not attempt to load this cart at the maximum rated weight. I have no confidence this cart can handle that weight other than maybe sitting still for a short period of time - which defeats the purpose. The spindles would be the weak link, and I certainly would never try to move the cart loaded with more than 3/4 the rated weight over flat/smooth terrain, and no more than 1/2 rated capacity over slightly dynamic terrain with even a slight grade. If you’re moving anything with more than a slight grade - you really need to light load the cart as it may be impossible to control it from getting away from you. I use my ZTR mower to pull and control the cart going down any grades. With that in mind - you also have to take into consideration the limitations of any machine you tow this cart with. Lastly - like all carts, you need to understand and consider that stability goes down the heavier you load it. ... show more
