Unit has no weight to it. Kind of flimsy and I had to re-bend the fender with pliers to make it fit into place and then re-attach the bolts. If you water your yard ahead of time and the soil is soft the spikes will do the job. Obviously, it's not a power walk behind and it did come in very handy when I was overseeding before and after. Don't try and push it down too hard as it can only take so much. I actually bent the horizontal blades before I learned how to make it work. I had to bend them back into place. I'm keeping it. I like it's compact size and ease of use. Putting it together was tricky. The handle bars was easy. Getting the bar to attach to the spike base was challenging. Be careful not to accidentally spike your hand while trying to mate the screw and bolt.

    • Handle does not fit into the rolling wheel.

The handle attaches to the roller on the outside of the wheel. It is too loose, so has to be adjusted or else it falls off when you run it over the lawn. I had to take it to a hardware store to try to get some nuts to put on the outside. But when we did that, it no longer rolls. Finally we bent the handle so that it tightly fit over the outside of the wheel. ... show more

As other reviews have said, the construction is flimsy, the spikes need to be longer, and it needs to be heavier. Because of the latter two things this is a waste of money. I cut my grass very short, and the spikes still are not long enough to reach into the ground and aerate the soil. I recommend not buying this product. ... show more
