I recently became active again and decided to try FT8. With the crappy winter weather, I was only able to get a random wire (approx. 71 ft.) in the air about 10 feet or so. This is probably one of the best antenna tuners for the price. It works on bands 160 - 6 meters, and the customer service was 100%. If you can't find a 12V, 0.5A transformer plug to slice the DC plug to, you would be fine to replace it with another 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC plug. If you do, try to get one with 16-18 gauge wires, which will make it easier if you are hooking up to a power supply. Overall, it works great! ... show more

Maybe my unit did not has the software correction in place? I have a FT-100D and I know the power scale by experience, I have checked it against my YS-60 and that against a Bird-43 back in home. I'm on a trip in another country, and buy this unit to use with a EFHW, the reading below ~60W are like half of the ones showed on the rough bar graph in the front of the radio [worst on the 10-20W range] When I get back from my trip I will check that as I don't have a meter at hand here, but otherwise displayed SWR match the ones on the radio, it match 180-6m easily and fast, the battery is good at least for 8hs of run on FT8/WSPR [not tested for longer periods] Good unit beside that issue that is "cosmetic" and do not affect the principal goal: to tune the antenna. Maybe a little tinkering with the Pickit2 in the horizon? ... show more

I've had the tuner in service for awhile. It's rubbish, it seems to need retuning often on the same frequency. And to top it all off it adds 2 s-units to my noise floor. I've never had a tuner that added toy noise floor ever. The seller wants me send a video or photos of the problem.there isn't anyway to upload a video that large. And how the heck am I supposed to take a picture of that? Do yourself a favor and buy a better tuner than this one. ... show more

This ATU is fully automatic. I hooked it up to my radio and press the A/M button at the back for full auto tuning and that was it. Every time I changed to a new frequency and key up it will immediately do an auto tune and remember the tune settings. The tuning took about one or two seconds and you can hear the relays clicking inside the ATU. The LCD display shows the forward power, reflected power in numbers and percent and the SWR reading. It was able to tune my radio to 1.04 SWR. It can handle input of 100 watts, my radio does 60 watts but my amplifier does 300 watts so it won’t handle that much power and I returned the ATU not because it is no good but I need an ATU that can handle 300 watts. I highly recommend this ATU for anyone doing under 100 watts and save your headache trying to lengthen or shorten your antenna and changing coaxial cables to lower your SWR. In fact it tuned all 10m, 11m and 12m on the same antenna. My antenna is a vertical dipole using two 102” whips without the 4” springs. ... show more
