I needed a slightly longer extension chord without it being overpriced. This does the job if it's for something permanently remaining plugged in like I needed for a lamp. Other than that, I don't think it's great for constantly plugging something in and out like a charger or lights,, the holes on the plastic make it hard to fully push in whatever you're plugging in, and then it's almost impossible to unplug it.
