Very detailed, shows artificial wear-and-tear. A lot of different components not just one piece of plastic. Pretty heafy at around 2 pounds. Best thing about the collector’s edition in my opinion (aside from the game) Dwarven Dice Set: Various wood ice in quality clinch bag Two 2 in Vanir Twins Carvings: similar in quality to statues you get for Horizon Forbidden West Steelbook Display Case (no disc), can hold up to two disc inside Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine: basically a housing for all contents (minus slip cover). Made of high quality gloss cardboard. Door flaps and inner panel are magnetic ---Game Review: Not a major step up or revolution from God of War 2018, but tons of refinements and added story makes it one of the best games and sequels/game series of all time --Story: 3 years later (from God of War 2018) Atreus is researching Ragnarök, Tyr and the Giants. Freya is out for revenge and Odin, Thor wants Atreus to stop Last game was theme about relationship between father and son, acceptance. This game expands on it and focuses on family and letting go. How to deal/counter fate (Ragnorok) knowing that it’ll happening. There are other sub themes also like dealing with grief, loss, human emotions, and what it means to be a God A lot more jokes and quips in character interactions/dialogue Loosely based on Norse mythology, but the Norse Gods, characters look more like how they’re described in lore than the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) --Gameplay Compared to last game; this one is more aggressive playstyle instead of reactionary. One of the best combat systems in any game Stringing together combos feels more smooth and natural You get separated from Kratos and play as Atreus during parts of the game, and meet up in converging storylines There are various partner characters throughout the game More varied enemies especially bosses and sub bosses. More than just giant trolls. You still may see similar enemies for a few hours, then the game switches it up with more variety as story progresses There’s more vertically in level design You unlock similar abilities at first from God of War 2018. Except rage ability which you get from the start. There are several new ones latter on Kratos has his Leviathan Axe, and Blades of Chaos. Now he has a new weapon, Draupnir Spear Elemental damage focused to deal heavy damage. Able to charge weapon before striking Use relics to attack Shield guard break indicator. Some enemies have elemental protection More environmental interactions during combat Skill trees is more streamline. Setup resemble the on in Horizon Forbidden West You get an amulet where you can equip up to 9 enchantments. If you stack enchantments of similar type you get bonus buff/perk Transmogrification, able to modify the appearance of armor and weapons without compromising any stats. Basically look the way you want instead of what has the best stats. Only available once you max out level Due to transmog there’s no more weapon color rarity indicator Weapons can be customized into individual parts/attachments Able to downgrade at anytime from the hardest difficulty (Give Me God of War), but once you do; cannot go back For PS5: Haptic feedback is present. Mostly in cinematic moments, when on sled/boat. Not as good as Astro Playroom or Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart ---Misc: One of the best looking games. For PS5 version; can play at (4k syncs with 120hz on Compatible monitor and HDMI 2.1 required) at locked 30fps, but can play performance mode with lower resolution 1440-2160p targeting 60pfs (at times reaching 120fps in certain moments). There’s also an in-between playing at 1080-2160p, targeted 40pfs PS4 version is 1080p at target 30fps. On PS4 Pro can play at 1080-1665p locked at 30fps 3D audio with compatible headphones Music score is excellent Tons of accessibility options like other resent Sony first party games (LOU part 1, Horizon FW, etc). I took advantage of Auto pickup items option, Sprint by holding x instead of L3.     • A worthy Collectors Edition for an Amazing Game
Like a lot of people I was somewhat hesitant to toss down the extra money for the God of War Ragnarok Collectors Edition. I’ve been burned in the past by cheap pack ins or fillers in otherwise great titles and was suspicious of how nice the hammer would be. Let me assure anyone with doubts about it the included Mjolnir is satisfying to hold and display. It has a solid weight and the detailed runework sculpted into the hammer face is well done. Yes, it is plastic but I don’t think anyone would or should be expecting a polystone or the like for the retail price. The included Vanir twin carvings are equally well sculpted and detailed. They make a great matching pair with the previous God of War Collectors edition Huldra brothers carvings. The dice set is also well made and a great addition to any dice collectors set. Sadly there is no physical copy of the game disc included with this edition of the game. I understand that it’s because there are disc and discless versions of the PS5 but it feels like Sony should have included the disc with this big physical box. Overall if you’re willing to pay the extra $130 the included items and even the box make great display pieces and will make any God of War fan happy. ... show more

I'm pretty pleased with this edition. I didn't expect much from the hammer, but it's actually quite impressive. The other bits and bobs are very charming in their simplicity and presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed the inclusion of a set of polyhedral dice because I'm late purchasing this and Baldur's Gate 3 just came out so I'm excited for any tangential reference to Dungeons & Dragons however inadvertent. It's also one of the few boxes that begs to be saved because it is made to look and open like a giant cabinet from the games. I'm sure that's the wrong terminology, but I think most that have played the game will understand what I'm talking about. ... show more

What a great game! This was an experience everyone should have, from the story telling to the visuals this one is one of the best game ever made. Kratos is relentless and atreus is wiser. This makes up for one of the best in the God of war saga. As for the collectors edition its beautifully made and the contents are fair for the price! Beautiful edition to have for sure ... show more

As a huge gamer I love buying collectors sets but I have to admit this set is by far one of the best I've ever seen. The box itself is sturdy and beautiful and with Mjolnir placed inside perfectly it brings me so much happiness.
