These are advertised as professional grade, but they aren't. They are an inexpensive set of decent quality, so they still get four stars. They come in a nice zippered case, and they have a decent weight -- not too heavy but still feel solid. They have a screw so that they can be tightened, but that's not really the same as having the ability to change the tension. They are also missing the rotating thumb piece, so you can comfortably change the direction of your hand. I guess those would be features in a more expensive set. So, for home use, these seem to be fine. At this price point, they're a good value. ... show more

this has a straight edge, and those thinning shears where it doesn't cut all the hairs. My wife likes to thin her hair with these to have a lighter batch of hair on her head. And it comes in a nifty (albeit unnecessary) case.

These scissors are so easy to use! When I 1st open them they were a little rough but as I kept using them they just glodded through my hair. They cut very well, super comfortable and easy to hold.

I have been cutting my hair for years using cheap scissors. These are cheap as well but are WAY better than what I was using. If these last even just a couple years I would not hesitate to buy them again.
