Like new was a challenge. I ordered one that was in the original box but was damage. When I received the item. The plug was broken. So I returned and they sent me a replacement. A low a behold this plug was broken on this one. So I decided I would try one last time. The third time was the charm. It was in perfect condition and almost half the price.     • Genuine OEM Part...genuine Chevy installation nightmare!!
4 Stars due to packaging. First unit arrived with multiple holes in the side of the box. Hardly any protection for the alternator. Upon closer inspection, I found that the protective plastic ring around one of the electrical connections was broken off (found it at the bottom of the box). Had to return that unit and order a new one. Second alternator came unbroken. Installation is a royal pain in the rear, but that's not the parts problem. I'm as shade-tree mechanic as they come and I did it successfully. I came at it from the top (they say that you can remove it via the right tire well, but I think that must be for non-AWD models). It takes some playing around with the geometry, but it will eventually work. I would HIGHLY suggest wrapping bungee or rope around the unit and having a second person keep tension while you remove the posts and bring it out of the engine. New unit has worked fine for a month now. Should be an easy fix, but Chevy can't allow that!!!! ... show more

    • Sold as: used - like new, arrived with swapped rectifier
Rectifier, (a critical part most frequent reason for alternator failure), on unit swapped from OEM to aftermarket. Impossible to fix short of disassembly, purchasing reliable rectifier and soldering new rectifier on Alternator.
