Project Description: Reran over 750ft of old studio wiring with GLS mic cable. Ease of installation - This cable is supple yet tough. In order to meet my need, I had to pull (6) 100ft runs through several tight spaces full of turns in order to mic up the platform. This cabling was a trooper. Pulled smoothly and easily...something that cheaper cables would have struggled a lot with...and the outer insulation is hardly even scratched. Cable quality - Good quality. The outer insulation is soft and flexible. The copper shielding is consistent in its winding and is easily twisted to make your ground/earth connection. The cloth shielding is consistent and thick, providing good isolation. The Red & White wires were well-insulated too. Overall, I was impressed. Ease of connection - Making up the wall and floor plates was pretty easy. The cable soldered well and took heat shrink well. Bonus! GLS offers their cabling with different colored outer insulation, which is a big help when pulling multiple wires at a time. Combined with different color marking tape, it's a breeze to keep your entire project organized and easily labeled. Outcome: My cracks and pops have gone away. My line noise has decreased. I couldn't be more happy, and I now feel far more confident in my system. I think this is a great solution if you don't want to step all the way up to Mogami 2549. ... show more

Really good cable for the price. Outer jacket is a nice flexible rubber and the cable doesn't appear to have any signs of coil memory. Good conductors and easy to solder to. I prefer the wrapped shield wires of this cable over more expensive braided shielding of others.

Don't let the price fool you! This is good cable for the money. Sure, it's not a tight, braided shield, but, I've made both microphone and instrument cables with it and have had NO problems with noise or intermittent signals. It's a great way to go if you want to save some money and still have cables that function properly. It's easy to prep for soldering. You won't be disappointed with this product. ... show more

I liked the cost factor on this spool. I can make many mic cords for the cost of one store bought mic cord. As an example, the mic cord that went bad on me I had purchased at a local guitar store where I.paid @ $50 for that one microphone cord. Un-soldering the XLR connectors, the thickness of that cord is very comparable with this cable if not identical in thickness and guage, shielding, and leads I wish the insulation was thicker but it feels good in hand. I soldered on the two XLR m/f connectors from the bad cord to the new cable pictured. It worked perfectly, no scratching when moving around with mic on. I also order 4 sets of XLR connectors to make 4 more mic cords all for the price of one at a music store. ... show more

Great cable - I use this cable paired with GLS XLR and 1/4" TRS connectors every weekend when running sound at gigs for live bands. It has stood up to being stepped out, had cabinet castors roll over it and beer spilled all over it. I'm yet to have a cable fail and they reject noise like crazy. I'm sure that I'll by buying a 3rd spool soon enough. The unique colors keep my cables from wandering off, keep people from tripping on them and add a nice splash of color on stage! ... show more
