I've tried feather toys and laser pointers but my cat was only interested in those for about 5 minutes before he got bored and moved on to something else. We had a couple mice in the house this winter and my dog didn’t seem that interested in hunting them (even though he is a serial bunny killer in the backyard). Got this toy to help train him. Now when we say where’s the mouse he’ll go looking and we’ve found him guarding where we’ve recently had mice sightings. I wouldn’t recommend leaving the toy with him, retrieve and reward with a treat then put it away. ... show more

My cat loves it, instantly taking a liking to it. It drives forward and then backs up in a curved shape as not to get stuck. Unfortunately after a week, the battery is already dying and the mouse doesn't move as much. Will need to replace the battery in another week, but I would purchase again.

My Jack Russel mix likes to play with it. (Don't tell her it's for cats) She tends to be gentle with her toys so it is still in good condition after several weeks. Just be aware that it only works on hard smooth surfaces and If your pet likes to turn it upside down, you will need to manually intervene to put the wheels back on the ground. ... show more

Cat was mildly interested in it but the problem is that 1. It only runs on hard floor not rug or carpet - which is ok for me - but it's REALLY LOUD when on the floor. I can't play with this too long or my neighbors will probably hate me. 2. it kinda sits there doing nothing for a while and the cat loses interest. the moment I go to pick it up though, it starts spinning its wheels. I guess if your cat isn't rough enough with it, it just doesn't register to "run away". 3. frequently bumps into corners and ends up getting stuck there. it does try to turn around and get out but it's probably worse than a roomba in terms of knowing when to get out of the corners so you have to frequently chase after it more than your cat does. ... show more
