  • Absolutely amazing GPU, solid implementation, Gigabyte RGB software sucks as usual
This card is quite the beast, both in the literal and metaphorical sense. It excels at any task you'd want a modern GPU to excel at. It runs games WELL above 60FPS with ultra settings and max raytracing at 1440p, It generates SDXL images in 6 seconds and Flux images in 25. It runs 7 billion parameter multimodal LLMs locally on my machine /without/ quantization. It is absolutely amazing what I can do with this piece of kit! Gigabyte's implementation is solid. The card is well built with a heavy solid backplate, windforce cooler, and 3x displayport plus 1x HDMI. It runs exceptionally cool - I've never seen it above 65C even in extremely heavy workloads. The RGB is simple and limited to the "GIGABYTE" logo on the top. Gigabyte's software for controlling it is crap as usual, wouldn't even install for me under Windows 11. Fortunately OpenRGB has support(on Linux, too!). Overall a solid implementation of an amazing GPU. The cost is rough... the Nvidia tax is high. That's the nature of things right now, especially if you work with a lot of AI. I rebuilt my machine on the x99 platform, opting to go with an overclocked 6900k and 32GB of DDR4 CL14 instead of something newer which allowed me to re use most of the build (I upgraded the CPU from a 5820k and the GPU from a 1070 TI, the rest reused) so I could dump as much budget as possible into the GPU. I do not regret this decision in the least, though I am planning to double the RAM within a few months because AI. I have seen the 6900k very occasionally limit this GPU in games, but only at frame rates that are already double my monitors refresh anyway e.g. >120fps. So even if you are on an older platform like that and maybe can't afford to upgrade the whole thing like me... this GPU is still quite viable! PCIE gen 3 16X does not seem to limit it in the least. My benchmarks are as amazing as anyone else with this GPU! ... show more

  • Cool, Quiet, and Powerful
Massive upgrade from a GTX 1080 Ti to this. Worth. Every. Penny. Main points: - Handles any game at 1440p. - Handles almost any game at 4K ultra, with some benefiting from DLSS where needed. - Highest temp I've ever seen is around 74c under the most extreme workload. Once ceased, temps drop immediately to mid-30s and fans stop. - During normal use and light gaming the fans are completely stopped, which is something that increases service life for the card greatly. Interestingly, in my smallish PC case, the pass-through cooler leads to a slight CPU temp increase during gaming due to heat being pulled through my CPU cooler. Specifically, I am running a Ryzen 7 5800x cooled by a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120. After evaluating this change I am seeing no reason to be concerned or upgrade my air cooler. Be aware of this, but don't be too concerned as the end result is that heat is effectively evacuated out of the case in this model and greatly improves the ability of the card to stay cool. This card is an excellent choice so buy with confidence. And, a 4 year warranty is included! ... show more

  • AMAZING product with a few very minor negatives
As far as the good things go, at stock this card is insanely powerful, and really quite efficient. you get better performance than a 3090 ti, 16GB of vram, and a really good cooler. Things get even betger of you do any tuning. Although i only own one of these cards, it seems fairly common for them to do above 3ghz core clocks and completely max out the +2000 memory slider in afterburner, which is a bit crazy. My card manages this, and is totally stable at these settings falling only about 5.5% behind a full blown 4080 which is... incredible! Especially considering that this card was just a bit ove $750 open box. On top of that, Gigabyte has a very nice 3y warranty, which while not the best that Nvidia's board partners offer is certainly much better than the 2y periods that some offer. Just make sure to register your product woth Gigabyte's warranty regustration website. As far as negatives go, i only have two small gripes. The first is that for whatever reason Gigabyte decided to use sleeve bearing fans on such a high end card which are prone to wearing out and dying much faster than ball bearing fans. Fortunately, Gigabyte's warranty should cover this, or if you feel so inclined, replacement fans are inexpensive and can be user serviced. My second minor complaint (really two of then) is that the PCB has a surprisingly low layer count for the price, which isn't strictly a bad thing, just a bit weird. And the inductors used are very low inductance which may lead to coil whine. Coil whine is one of those things that is not guaranteed, and my card does not suffer this issue fortunately. But this model may be somewhat more prone to these issues than other 4070 ti Super PCBs by other Nvidia board partners. Overall, 4.85/5. Would be neat if Gigabyte made the perfect card, but oh well. ... show more

  • Great Card
A great graphics card. The one issue of course is price, but that true of all GPUs now. I was able to get it on sale for $800 though. I was worried about the noise as this is the loudest 4070ti super at about 35 db, but it is honestly whisper quiet. I cannot hear it when gaming. The RGB around the fans does flicker for me, but I believe this is because the lights are behind the fans. I just turned the RGB all the way off though. Performance is amazing. Its about 2.5X the performance of my older 2070 at 1440p. The big boost is the 16 GB of v-ram. Although it doesn't affect performance today, the extra v-ram will be useful in the future. Overall an amazing card. It'll do 1440p ultra at over 100fps, or 4k ultra at over 60 fps. ... show more

  • QUIET
Returned an asus tuf card that had a stupid amount of coil whine for this card. this thing is excellent, 0 coil whine at any fps and i mean absolutely 0, fans are also whisper quiet and hardly ever ramp up loud enough to notice. will be sticking with gigabyte from now on.

  • Did not receive new item
The card is great and works great. However I paid for new item and received an open box item. My only option provided was a return instead of a replacement.
