  • Great Motherboard, but from past history, buy an extended warranty.
I really like Gigaboard features. I always have. This specific model has plenty of USB 2 slots, which many of us still use, and a USB 3 slot, which I connect to an external USB 3.o hub. I need the extension hub and already have it. Unfortunately, Gigabyte has a deserved reputation for very slow support. I had a question, and it took over a week to get an email reply. Several years ago, I had a really nice X97 MB, Black (OC) edition. I sent it to them, and it took 2 months to get a replacement! It wasn't the latest model, and they finally sent me an upgraded replacement, but without the correct backplate. They send the correct one. , in another week. Now, I'm buying another one, because now, I can buy an extended warranty, that covers the Mb from day one. So, It's worth it to me to try them aGAIN. ... show more

  • Exact fit for my needs
Now part of my personal Rig. Since i had originally another motherboard in mind, such item was not available and needed to ship it quickly, even though costed 10 dollars more. The big advantage i saw was the more USB 2.0 ports on motherboard to connect the basics as Keyboard, mouse, printer and scanner, keeping free the USB 3.1 / 3,2 free for devices that require it. my only setback was that only has a USB 3.1 port on motherboard so i connected the port of the case. Though i'm not fan of RGB lighting has a discreet set of light that can be regulated or turned off. Utilities from manufacturer are very useful since has an option to regulate traffic of applications which improved my game performance. Ventilators' ports are enough to put the required case ventilators. In my case, i needed to set 2x140mm fans on top but the connectors had to be on the bottom since their cables were too short to reach the connectors, so i had to use extensions, but cable management was not disrupted. That's a great mother board to work with. ... show more

  • Nice Motherboard for the money. UPDATE: Don't bother if you are a Linux User!!!!
This motherboard is a pleasure to work with. Installation was ease, however the Bios that came on the board was a bit flaky. It came with F2. I was able to get it to F12b and everything is working great. The only problem that is really annoying is getting the RealTek 2.5Gb lan working with some Linux Distros. It works out-of-box with Arch, but the latest Ubuntu and Fedora versions you have to install the driver after install. So make sure you download the driver and put it on a usb stick before you install. UPDATE: This board is a nightmare when using Linux. The 2.5Gb ethernet has been fixed in most Linux Distros. The new problem is that you can't use any BIOS above F12 if you want power management to work. If you try to use suspend with F13 and newer BIOS it will shutdown your displays and lock up everything with the fans and leds still running. The only way you can get the system back is to turn off the switch on the power supply and turn it back on. Not being able to use the newer BIOS's is not good because they contain bug fixes from AMD for the USB system to improve stability. The other thing that really sucks is that each BIOS upgrade wipes your Linux boot drive completely out of the UEFI. Before someone says that is normal, ASRock is able to do a BIOS update without wiping out the boot drive information. I would not recommend this or any Gigabyte board to anyone. I have been told that Gigabyte doesn't even check to see if the boards work with Linux, except for a few that they approve to work with Linux. Gigabyte won't even try to fix a problem with their BIOS's and Linux if the board works fine in Windows. ... show more

  • I APOLOGIZE (A LITTLE HARSH ON FIRST IMPRESSION) LED ON BOARD NEAR VRM WHITE FLASH?
THIS MOTHERBOARD HAS LED LIGHTING NEAR REAR IO AN VRM AREA. UPON START UP A BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT FLASHES IN THIS SAME AREA. I WILL REMAIN AN OLD SCHOOL SKEPTIC. I WOULD RECOMMEND A MOTHERBOARD WHITHOUT RGB OR LED VRM I/O AREA. HOWEVER, AFTER TWO YEARS OF USE. THERE HAS BEEN NO TECHNICAL PROBLEMS AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS ONLY PULLING 95 WATTS. I FOUND YOU CAN SHUT DOWN THE RGB VRM LIGHT PROBLEM IN THE SYSTEM BIOS. ALL IS WELL NOW AND OVERALL I CAN SAY THAT THIS MOTHERBOARD IS A KEEPER. GOODLUCK ... show more

  • Not impressed
My first AND LAST time buying a Gigabyte mobo. I've heard their mobos were much to be desired and I should've listened. USB issues like crazy. The USB 3.2 controller for the front I/O doesn't fully function. Only 1 of the ports actually WORKS. This isn't worth the time and hassle to send in an RMA just for 1 faulty front USB port, but still extremely annoying knowing they screwed me over with a faulty product I paid full price for. I've read plenty of others having issues with Gigabyte boards and USB issues; especially this one. Not even the exact board I wanted, but the rev 1.0 isn't even available in US. There doesn't seem to be any other major issues with the board SO FAR (not holding my breath). My fault for not listening to others and buying this crap anyway. Live and learn. I'd recommend ASUS and MSI boards over Gigabyte any day. Paid way too much for this poor of QC. ... show more

  • Gigabyte has always been awesome in the mobo biz and this is no exception !
Awesome motherboard from Gigabyte ! Plenty of USB 3.0 and 3.2 slots in addition to a flash bios button for easy upgrades. In addition to it being viable for the future Ryen 4k series just makes it an awesome board. What I love about gigabyte from the other vendors is that each of their boards now come with a LED panel on the board itself labeled for 'CPU' 'MOBO' 'PSU' 'VGA'. If your rig doesn't boot you can always look to one of these four LEDs to tell you which one is the issue. Won't tell you WHAT is wrong with it of course, but gives you a good first step. Thanks Gigabyte, always used your motherboards and will continue to do so...just work on your heatsinks for your GPUs ! ... show more

Al inicio me dio problemas de red y se desconectaba pero después de un parche al driver se arregló. Funciona perfecto con 3700x

  • Best B550 motherboard under $200
Love it! It's got all the features I'm interested in and it costs $80 less than the fully loaded X570 version. Great12+2 phase VRM supplies up to 600A to the cores, 100A to the SoC (assuming an adequate PSU). You should be able to easily overclock a R9 5900X with that. Great memory topology. QVL includes the Ballistix MAX 5100. It ran my much less expensive Patriot Viper 4400 just fine at 3733CL16, limited only by the CPU. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more
