  • Love this series.
After getting emails that our boys emails were always forgetting to bring things to school, I downloaded Smart but Scattered and this popped up as a recommendation. I sent it to both my sons' Kindles and have received praise from our 4th and 6th grade teachers that they have seen a remarkable improvement. I offered to read and discuss it with both of them and they both declined and they just became organized on their own. I think younger kids will need more help and guidance. ... show more

  • Son actually picked it up & read it for a good 45 minutes when I gave it to him (12 yrs old)
Son was able to say "hey- I already do that!" and also got real quiet to read other parts that I think may have been a good suggestion for him. Seems like a good book where kids can skim & pick out what interests them - not a heavy read that takes the concentration that most ADHD don't have...Lol.

  • Not enough humor. Sounds like lecturing.
I had higher expectations for this book because the other Laugh and Learn books were funny, especially the "Do your Homework without Throwing Up" one. I wish that it was more entertaining for kids so that they would want to read the book and enjoy reading it. I could barely get through this book myself because it was so dry and lecturing. The amount of stuff the author suggests you need to be organized is dizzying. I think this creates a barrier to entry for kids because they don't have all that stuff. My son would not read this book. However, he found the Homework one and Procrastinator ones worth reading. The kind of kid who would read this entire thing is already interested in being organized. ... show more

  • Funny and Helpful
I thought this was a funny way to approach the mayhem of middle school. My son is just adjusting this year to being in a new school building with more teachers, a locker, etc. I thought it was very well done and approached what could be a stressful task (trying to help kids get organized without 'getting in the way') into a shared, humorous experience. ... show more
