I make production mugs for shows and I hoped for a nice tool to cut quick handles so I ordered this. The handle is a simple rectangular handle with an angled end. The tool itself is cut sheet metal and I like the simplicity of the construction of the cutting head. Overall it cuts pretty well and doesn't clog much. But...cutting a lot at a time, it gets uncomfortable quickly. I really don't like design it cuts and the feel of the handle whether its rotated inward or outward. Also, clearly its going to take a learning curve to use this type of tool for handles. I found this clay tool extremely well-crafted, though it's a little on the small size. It matches another version of this type of tool I recently selected from Amazon. It cuts the clay with a good edge. These clay tools seem to be copycats of DiamondCore tools, and those are extremely pricey clay tools. With this in mind, I recommend GEOCCI tools for their value. This allows a maker to test the tool and decide if a higher quality tool is worth getting, or if a less-expensive version is good enough. This is a nice-looking, well-functioning tool for the price. The handle is made out of a stained, polished wood that looks like rosewood, and the cutter seems to be made of steel, and is attached securely to the handle. Used on slightly hardened clay, it cuts a fluted-looking mug handle that is just the right thickness, but also has that little bit of flair that makes it different from a pulled or cut handle.
