This is my first pottery wheel and I was super nervous about purchasing because at the time there wasnt any reviews but I couldn't beat the price for all the great aspects of this pottery wheel so I went ahead and bought it and I couldnt be anymore pleased as I am with this wheel!!! I love the size and the fact that it comes with and on and off switch and then also the option to change the direction the wheel spins!!! Also the fact that the basin is removable for easier cleaning is awesome!!! And it also has a foot pedal!!! I researched alot before choosing a wheel and from what I found during my research...having a removable basin and pedal were 2 huge aspects for alot of people that throw pottery! And I myself am so happy I chose this wheel instead of the other that had more reviews because it didnt have neither the pedal or the removable basin and it was also over $100 more than this wheel!!! I feel like I got a huge steal on this wheel because of the price and all the extras it has compared to many others on Amazon. I would recommend this wheel to anyone and would repurchase myself as well!!! It has by far been the best purchase I've made here on Amazon and definitely the best bang for your buck as well!!! They could easily sell this wheel for atleast $100 more and it would still be a great deal for the product your getting and the quality of the wheel!!! Only thing I regret is taking so long to decide to purchase this wheel, because I could have had it sooner and been throwing my pottery sooner!!! It has been an amazing hobby for me!!!! I just throw on some music and throw some clay on my wheel and begin to throw and my stress and anxiety levels just ease away! So for me buying this wheel has been great for me in many ways! This seems sturdy and well built. I bought it just to use for trimming, so no real hard throwing. The foot pedal is the low point. IMO it has poor action making it hard to gracefully adjust your speed. It is also tall making it more difficult to remove your foot in those times when not having your foot on the peddle is a wise choice ;) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Do not waste your money with this pottery wheel! Not even worth calling it a toy!! Purchased based on all the positive reviews but you have to dig deep inside the reviews to find the negative ones that mention the horrible issues with this wheel. Both the original purchase and Amazon’s replacement had the exact same issues. It does not run smooth, wheel wobbles all over the place, grinds and makes a horrible pounding noise. It is virtually impossible to center which makes it useless and impossible to throw anything. The motor attaches to a flywheel made out of cheap plastic that is bent and far from being round. These issues added to the off-center aluminum base wheel make the entire thing a complete and utter joke of a machine. The only positive thing with this purchase was Amazon’s customer service which sent me a replacement after I reached out to them with the issues the first one had. Works perfectly! It's easy to use, light and easy to transport, and easy to clean. It's a little small (which isn't really a problem for me since I'm only 5'1 but I can imagine that it might be difficult to use if you're taller). For the price, it's definitely worth it compared to other starter wheels that begin at around $500. This is an incredible pottery wheel for the price. If you're like me and want to continue practicing throwing and trimming, but don't want to spend nearly a thousand dollars for one of the name brand wheels, then this is the product for you. It's a small wheel and there is no way to use bats with it (without modification), but this will teach you good cleanup habits and get you comfortable working with the wheel head. I've attached an image of a few pots I've made with this wheel so far. I can't recommend this enough if you are a beginner like me who wants to take further steps into the world of ceramics before you start spending the big bucks. ... show more
