  • Arrived with a broken base
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
I'm sure I would have loved this item had it arrived intact. But, as other reviewers have mentioned, it arrived with the ceramic base broken. I sent it back.

  • My favorite sprouting jar I've found.
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
This is certainly the prettiest sprouting jar I have found on the market. Some have complained that it is small, but I am only sprouting for myself, so it works. I think it would produce a sufficient volume of sprouts for 2-3 people who want a fistfull of sprouts on their salad or sandwitch daily, as long as you are watering/growing them daily. Structurally this jar is pretty sound. I like how there is only a little plastic involved. The only problem I've had is that the steel lid is "glued" to a plastic ring that screws onto the jar. This pulled apart the first time I used it, which caused the screen to come out. I was left with three pieces that should be easy to put back together, but for some reason the way I've done it makes the screen bow out a little, instead of being flush and flat like the picture shows. It doesn't effect the jars ability to grow sprouts though. Also, When I rinse the sprouts, I have to rinse the square ceramic piece as well, because it catches sprout water that can turn into a nasty little cess pool if left on the counter too long. It's still my favorite sprouting jar on the market that I've found, especially because of the frame that helps the sprouts to drain (one less thing to worry about). I used to have a jar with a green plastic screen. I much prefer this one. ... show more

  • Mesh rusts.

  • I really like it.
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
Excellent smaller size jar for making your home "microgreens". Just rinse 2-3 times a day for a few days and you get fresh sprouts of your choosing to come out of this smaller jar. The base catches any leftover drips and takes up much less room than other sprouting jars. Proviso: The top design could be improved. The top consists of three layers the metal screw on lid, the mesh screen and the plastic piece that is glued into the metal lid. I got some sprouts stuck in the side of the mesh so I removed the mesh from the top thereby ungluing the plastic piece from the metal lid. Don't know what kind of glue that is food safe so I don't know how to reattach the three pieces. Top could be improved for easier cleaning. ... show more

  • Screen rusted on first use
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
I had to return this after one use because the screen rusted, and it produced a dismayingly small amount of sprouts. I tried the Geo 3-tier clay sprouter, found it clumsy and too humid, so I made my own sprouter using an 18/8 stainless steel tamis, or French flour sifter: it has a rim around it that allows roots to grow down and enough space above for sprouts to grow. I just keep it between two ceramic plates. I got mine at Sur La Table. I don't know why it's so difficult for folks to design an easy to use NON-PLASTIC sprouter: look at the tamis flour sifters. ... show more

  • Item is fantastic!
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
Shipping, not so good. The first one had a broken ceramic base because the plastic air pouches were not protecting all sides of the box and the ceramic base was broken most likely because of it. I returned it. Amazon wrapped it exactly the same way and... the ceramic base was broken that time too. *update* The Sprout House came through and went the extra distance to provide me a replacement ceramic base! Amazon support on this wasn't that great but Sprout House was awesome. I think it's the best sprouting jar out there. ... show more

  • Pretty & functional
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
I've had good results and it's pretty enough that I don;t mind having it out on the counter. I would have given it a 5, except that the ceramic tray was cracked when it arrived.

  • Glue falls off, molds easily
Size: Regular Style: Geojar Glass Color: Stainless Steel
After 3-4 runs of sprouting the glue starts to separate from the lid. The metal part falls off and leaves a plastic ring. This sprouter molds/rusts very easily in the lid and wire covering. Not impressed.
