I’m going to give this product a 5 star rating because it’s the perfect gel for me. It holds perfectly for my length of hair and hairstyle. My hair is around 4-6 inches. All I do is gel it and comb it back for my slick back hairstyle. BUT! BEWARE! THESE AMAZON PACKERS CAN’T PACK FOR NOTHING. I USED TO WORK FOR AN AMAZON FACILITY AS A PACKER AND I WOULD NEVER PACKED IT THE WAY IT WAS. I WOULD’VE USED A BIGGER BOX TO PUT SOME PACKING MATERIAL. THAT WAY THERE WOULDN’T BE ANY CHANCES OF PUNCTURES AND BOUNCE OF THE PRODUCT DURING SHIPPING AND HANDLING. THEY COILDN’T EVEN KEEP THE LID SEALED TIGHT ONTO THE CONTAINER. THE BOX HAD GEL EVERYWHERE. GEL AT THE TOP OF THE CONTAINER WHERE IT GETS SEALED, ON THE CONTAINER AND INSIDE OF THE LID. THIS MADE THE PRODUCT’S LID LOOSE. ACTUALLY NO NOT LOOSE. IT WAS JUST THERE AT THE TOP OF THE CONTAINER LIKE NO ONE CARED. NO TIGHTNESS WHATSOEVER. NADA BUT! I’m not going to do anything about it since I don’t want to wait for another jar of gel. I hate going to work with messy hair. My hair is tameless. Especially when it’s long. I threw the box away and already cleaned the container and lid. Plus I got this jar for around twice the price of the 16 oz but I get to have 4 times the amount. So overall I am happy. BUT NEXT TIME AMAZON/3RD PARTY SELLER GETS AN ORDER FOR THIS, THEY BETTER MAKE SURE ITS PACKED UP CORRECTLY. It's a great product! The description says that it'll hold for 24 hours, but that's an understatement. It'll hold much longer than that. It's also incredibly strong and a little goes a long way. Despite its strength, it's so easy to wash out it's almost effortless. It has a mild fragrance that's probably better than most men's colognes. I wholeheartedly recommend this product! ... show more

After going through two smaller containers I got the 64 oz. Works great for both a "spikey" hair-style and when I let my hair go a while without a trim also a "slick back" hair style. Easily holds all day even if exposed to some light rain, strong wind, etc. Also has held up to a nap a few times, haha! All that and quite easy to wash out with shampoo. I'll continue to re-purchase the 64 oz container for the foreseeable future. As other reviewers have noted there is a small chance of damage in shipping... but Amazon always handles it. ... show more

Got this gel as a more affordable johny b and that's EXACTLY what it is. Holds just as good with all the same consistencies. The white/clear is better then colored stuff because if your in a rush u dont need to panic if some is left on ur scalp because it wont be clearly visible. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the smell. It doesn't smell bad, just not an attractive smell. Kinda smells like regular hair spray. ... show more

Been using this product for plenty of years now. Very happy, not too crazy expensive and this size lasts me about 6 months even with my wife and daughters borrowing gel once in a while. I have shorter hair than average and use about a quarter size mixed in my hand with a bit of water, stays on, holds good all day. No issues rinsing it off with just water or in the shower. I love this product, from the smell to the hold, was first introduced to this product when my stylist asked if I wanted to try a new hair product, that's was almost 1 1/2 years ago. This bottle along with my partner could last us about 3-8 months, you don't really need to use that much, I use a small container to store my use in and the bottle goes back in my closet until I need to refill.
