Bought these in a pinch because my normal supplier was out of switchcraft acoustic stereo jacks. Immediately noticed that the metal casting was of a lesser quality...No big deal, but when I used my multimeter to check which tab corresponded to which conductor on a stereo cable, the ring and sleeve both read as electrically connected. A NO-NO for stereo operation! I then took a flashlight and peered down the business end of the jack and saw that the contact for the Ring tab was actually way down on the sleeve terminal and not where the Ring terminal is on a 1/4" stereo plug. I still ended up using it in this instance because the use of the Ring terminal was not necessary for this particular job, but overall I'm not very pleased with these. ... show more

tested the same set up with these two jacks and one other jack from another seller. With the other jack, tapping on an attached piezo sends the microphone test bar half way to max. With one of these two jacks, there is no response, and with the other, there is no response if the pin isn't pushed in ALL the way, and only moves the microphone test bar about 5-10% to max when pushed in all the way. ... show more
