UPDATE Something kept bugging me about the weird, rubberized-like finish of this control plate. It would never shine. Would never look clean. Felt rubberized. So I ended up ordering another one and it was flawlessly perfect. What I think happened is, the plastic it comes wrapped in; somehow “transfer” to the metal paint. I say that because when I unwrapped the new one the plastic wrap was detached. The previous one, the plastic was stuck to the metal and I had to “rip it off”. I wonder if the previous one was laying around in a very hot place for a while, resulting in the issue with the plastic wrap. Anyways, new one is gorgeous so updating my review. ————— I’m confused about this plate. The shape and fit are both great. Love the knob placement and the angular switch position. What’s weird is, it doesn’t look truly black. It looks more like a dark, dull charcoal color. And it is metal, but it doesn’t feel smooth like metal. It feels sticky like plastic. So, I’m confused if this comes from factory with a plastic protection layer. All I know is I’ve tried and tried to see if there is a plastic layer to be removed, but nothing. And the dull nature of the color is throwing me off. It never looks clean. It’s always smeared in fingerprints or something, which don’t clean up, like if there was plastic between the finger and the metal. Very strange. ... show more

I was really happy about finding this angled switch control plate at a reasonable price. However when trying to replace, it became obvious that it wouldn't work. As you can see by the attached photos, the slot for the switch is too narrow. A stock or Oak Grigsby blade switch will not fit Very disappointing. ... show more

The thickness of this plate is about half the original. The end holes don't quite line up - the distance is about 1/16" too short. The screw holes for the pickup switch are not countersunk so the mounting screws stick up a bit. Other than that it's nice to have the angled switch, which is why I bought it. But I would not buy this for any good guitar unless you are happy with putting something cheap on something good... ... show more
