This alarm is the best way to add some security to your home without breaking the bank. I ordered two for my front and back door. It comes with everything you need to install the alarms. The adhesive is strong enough to stay glued on the surface, whether it is the moulding or the door itself. The first few times, i had to readjust the positioning and it was still able to stick securely. The sound of the alarm is loud enough to alert neighbors. It can scare pets, so that should be a consideration when purchasing. I either leave the mode either off or Alarm. The Chime sound is not as loud but can still scare pets. I believe this is a great solution for anyone on a budget, especially those renting. Simple solution to know if a door or window has been opened by a child or uninvited guest. I recommend you have a backup for this alarm if it's suspended vertically. One day the sticky fell off one part and the alarm went off. Had this been in the middle of the night it could have been bad. I put clear scotch tape over the parts after that. ... show more

Our alarm system salesperson talked us into getting glass break sensors instead of window sensors. After my parents recently experienced an attempted break-in at their house, we decided to purchase these for our windows to increase security while avoiding an increased monthly security payment. These stick firmly and the alarm is very shrill. We can hear them from accross our single story, 1665sqft home. Though you may not be able to do the same in a two story home, they're still very useful if people are upstairs and need to know when a window is open. I read some reviews saying they are not loud enough... I have hearing loss and I still think these are enough to alert residents and scare off intruders. We definitely feel safer having these sensors. At first I thought they were defective, but then I read the instructions (DUH...) and I realized there's a small plastic battery block that needs to be removed before turning on. Just in case anyone else is like me and ignores instructions. So far, I would definitely recommend! ... show more

We bought these alarms in order to be notified when our sliding glass doors are opened. While they work, the alarm is very loud. I wish there was a way to turn it down, just a touch.
