and an update: did hear from GE but in the meantime I found an ever so easy fix and am happily baking, roasting, air frying, and toasting and warming. a replacement knob: ordered from Amazon: TJPoto Replacement Part Timer knob Air Fryer HF-919B D Type Shaft; within 2 minutes of its arrival my GE oven was operational without the handy pliers to set the timer. Oven is a delight to use and easy to clean. Price is reasonable. If the timer knob is your concern, there are universal replacement knobs out there evnn more inexpensive than the one I purchased. Loved this appliance for 3 months, when the timer knob came off and could not be reattached. The on and off function is controlled by the timer knob: if it does not work, the oven does not work. Even more distressing is that that GE did not respond to any email requests for assistance despite there being a warranty. I have ordered a universal toaster oven knob "d" style (as it is on this GE oven) and am guardedly hopeful. Nonetheless-- not even a "thank you for your email and we will be in touch soon" from GE. My only frustration is the cool down stage. Why is it? I don't want my food to cool down before I take it out of the oven. The other feature that I read in another review and understand it now is the pre-heat time takes all of the cook time. So I have to guess how much time to add to my cook time so that it doesn't shut off before it actually cooks. Example : If I need 20 minutes to cook a thing and set the cook time for 20 min's. it will preheat for 20 min's and shut off/go to cool. I have to reset and start all over and now guess how many minutes it needs to pre-heat then cook. Maybe it should have an automatic pre-heat time added for what its set at ? I AM JUST FIGURING OUT HOW TO COOK WITH IT SO.... ... show more

Just after a year, the timer knob fell off I'm having to use plyers to set the timer I will have to try to reglue and the temperature knob is melting You would think for a 200$ stove it would have a better design or something, with all this said I do like the stove we use it quite often.

I wanted an air fryer but as I researched products I found out that most of them are made of toxic plastic. This oven is non-toxic, metal throughout, works great, easy to clean. It was a great gift to myself. Just remember the manufacturer suggests that you don't put this oven on the counter with shelving above it. I bought a shelving table and placed it on the top. The oven does not get hot enough on the outside to create a problem. I highly recommend this oven. ... show more

Great size, can easily cook a small pizza in it. Does put out a lot of heat in the back, but we placed a baking stone behind it and that keeps the wall protected. Really needs to have a drip tray, everything drips down onto the burners and bottom of the oven and makes a mess. Also would like to have 2 shelves, it's a pain to have to bake things separately. But it does cook quickly and the dial settings are easy to figure out. ... show more

My last toaster oven cost twice as much and no one could figure out how to use it. This one is very easy to use and works great. The air fryer doesn’t work as great as a counter top air fryer though, so unfortunately, I still have to keep my air fryer in the cupboard too.

I'll never understand how a good design can be completely negated by using inferior plastic parts that break after 40 days of use. I liked this manual airfryer because it looked sturdy and well built. Appearances can be - and are - deceiving. The timer knob which is made from the aforementioned cheap plastic is insufficient to withstand the force required to turn the timer control. The inside of it cracked and is rendered useless. Was not abused or forced in any way. Poor engineering. Save your money, go digital. Original rating -1 star. Update Jan 2023: After working with GE appliances I can happily say they did the right thing and replaced the oven. Not only did they replace it, they upgraded the model to a digital one. Unexpected but welcome, and worth a 4 star rating. The new model seems to work fine and I don't expect to have any problems with it. Thanks GE! ... show more
