  • These are great! Just wish a little bit brighter...
Style: A19 Size: 2 Bulbs
Wasn't sure what to expect with these, but I bought 2 for floor lamps in my basement and they ended up being a lot of fun. If you use them nearby a TV with LED's behind the TV, you can essentially match up the colors from the back of a TV with these lamp bulbs and it's a whole theme! I prefer the Cync app over Alexa, you can customize things more. They sync'd up well and was impressed to find out that these bulbs have firmware! So after connecting them, a firmware update was downloaded and applied. Very cool! One of my lamps had a stubborn pull string, so being able to just remote the light on and off is also great for eliminating that annoyance. My only comment is the bulbs I replaced these with were much brighter, so when I installed these I had to sacrifice brightness for some cool factor. So I'll keep an eye out for maybe something similar but brighter in the highest setting later on. Meanwhile, these are pretty cool. ... show more

  • Just like magic! Let there be light!
Style: A19 Size: 2 Bulbs
These smart lightbulbs are just fabulous. Use the wifi plug and set it up through the cyn app on your phone, walla! Then run it all through your echo dot and you have magic! Love the color wheel that's in the app. Pick any color you like, even brightness, or plain white. Truly is amazing and it turns any lamp into something special. I love it and recommend this brand and type of bulb. Oh, almost forgot, so easy to set up. Just follow a few easy steps and your set. By easy steps, I mean stand in front of lamp, turn on at the switch, lamp will blink and turn off. Then your set, turn back on through the app on your smartphone. Enjoy the ease of it all. Ask Alexa to turn your light on and off after that. Truly is like magic. Kids love it. ... show more

  • Bulbs work good with Alexa, but app is terrible
Style: A19 Size: 2 Bulbs
My first time installing these was pretty easy, I just downloaded the app and followed the instructions and was able to connect them to Wi-Fi alright. They responded well to the app and I could do lots of stuff like change the brightness and color, save specific colors, change individual bulb settings, etc. the reason I bought the bulbs though was so I could set a schedule that would turn them on at a certain time with a certain color. It wasn’t too difficult to setup a schedule, and there were videos online to help, but whenever I set the schedule it didn’t go off. I started with ones just a few minutes in advance so that I could see them going off to make sure they worked, but they just weren’t coming on at the time I told it to. Eventually I set one and let it go for a bit, and it eventually came on like 10 minutes later. So I realized that they actually were working, the time just want synced well on the bulbs. I then tried to factory reset the bulbs to see if setting them up again would fix the time issue. This process wasn’t to bad but you have to watch the video to figure out how to reset them. When I tried to set them back up though, there was always one bulb that wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi. I tried like 5 times resetting them and trying to set them back up, and each time one of the bulbs wouldn’t connect. I eventually let it alone for a day and tried again, and thankfully it worked. I figured out that if I let the bulb run for too long I think something with it being to hot interferes with the Wi-Fi setup. So if you are having problems with connecting the Wi-Fi, let it cool down a bit and then quickly set it up right after you turn them on. Still after resetting them several times, there was always some weird problem with the scheduling feature that wouldn’t work the way I wanted them too. So eventually I just connected them to Alexa and setup a schedule through the Alexa app. This has worked fantastically and without any problems. You might have to set multiple schedules in order to accomplish something though because there are less features you can do through the Alexa app. For example if you want the light to come on at a low brightness and ramp up with a different color, then you have to use two schedules for changing the color and doing the brightness ramp. Also note that if the bulb has physically been turned off with the switch, it must be turn back on for a few minutes before Alexa can find it and control it. Overall these bulbs have done what I need them too through the Alexa app, but I have not found the Cync app to be useful beside just changing the brightness and color manually. If these bulbs are on sale they may be worth it because they are cheap, but I would look elsewhere first for a bulb with a better app integration. ... show more

  • Read this if you're having setup problems
Style: A19 Size: 4 Bulbs
First off, this is just an initial review, I've only started using the bulbs today. I'll update later. Initial install: I bought four bulbs and placed them in a bathroom wall fixture. The existing bulbs were working prior to the install, but when I inserted the Cync bulbs... nothing. No light, no blink, nothing. I used a table lamp to try to set them up one at a time, when I encountered the next problem... Setup issues: After a customer service chat, I was finally able to get one of the four bulbs setup. Here's all the things I tried before it finally worked; I don't know what was actually the problem: - Turned off 5Ghz wifi on my router - Disconnected my Bluetooth hearing aids - Reset the bulb numerous times using the "8 seconds on, 2 seconds off, rinse and repeat" technique - Setup a different "home" in the Cync app and tried to add to that After doing all of that, I got ONE bulb to configure. The other three would not configure. I tried killing the app, no dice. Then, I had an epiphany: I rebooted my iPhone. Voila, a second bulb configured! I tried the third, and... no dice. Another reboot, and it worked. Literally, I could only configure one bulb PER BOOTLOAD of my phone. Unbelievably buggy app. Reinstalling in the original fixture: Four configured bulbs in hand, I excitedly headed back to the bathroom. Put them in the fixture, nothing. Dead. No light, no blink, nothing. I contacted support again, and they actually called me (again, customer support is actually quite good for these devices). After I described my problem, he finally said something that... wait for it... made a light come on in my head. He said that, if they don't come on at all, they're not getting power, and maybe the contact in the center of the socket wasn't making contact with the bulb. I powered off the fixture, got my needlenose pliers, bent them all out a little, and... voila! All four bulbs illuminated and are now working with both the Cync app and Alexa! Conclusion: Many things went wrong with my installation. I was >this< close to boxing them up and returning them, but I was on a mission after I got the first one to configure. Hopefully this helps someone else, it took me the better part of an afternoon to get these things to work. ... show more
