Works Well. Recommend. The only small multifuntion & powerful microwave with number keys (that I found.) (The number keys have multiple functions but keys 1-6 are quick touch keys to cook for 1-6 minutes, like typical microwave!) This microwave has 4 primary functions: microwave, airfry, convection, broil, but several others like combination (microwave & airfry), & many other others like melt, defrost & many presets where preset #, weight or time needs to be set. It is about 16.6"D x 20.6"W x 11.88"H, so fits on a small counter & under the cabinets. It did come with a few pages of instructions but should download the complete manual at GE or other websites. We immediately disabled child safety locked door. If "Food" error, open door. (Still reading manual learning about all of its functions.) ... show more

We killed our other microwave last month. I had toyed with getting an air fryer but we don't have much counter space. Enter the AirFry/Microwave combos. I grabbed this one because of the many things it does and the many fine reviews. It measures up to all its tasks. The microwave function itself has come a long way. So even cooking and quiet. Love that the turntable is connected to a piece that is attached to the bottom. No more having the turntable flopping off until you get it lined up with those little nubs. It has less power than our previous microwave but it cooks faster and much more evenly. I just tried the air fry setting and it is a new world.. Perhaps all of them cook chicken breast pieces to this level of tenderness but I was amazed at the flavor and how crisp they were after 5 minutes. I have not tried the broil feature yet nor have I tried toast. That heat element does work with the air fryer so I will assume it has those things well. I guess since it has the brroiler feature that that is why it has the extra insulation. Very easy to clean after it has been on. One good surprise after another. Quiet and competent. The only thing I would have liked would have been some kind of manual to use if you have never done convection or air fry. I would also add what others have added: the controls are a bit hard to see. I will write them up and tape them somewhere on the side. Other than that I am very happy with the price and the performance as well as the size for what it holds. It is a keeper. ... show more

    • Review after 2 months. A lot of functionality for the price, but a few annoyances.

NOTE: I only need a device to prepare small meals for me and my wife. If you plan to prepare meals for large parties, a large family, etc., you might need a different unit. I was going to get an air fryer, but then our old microwave died. So I opted for this combo unit (microwave, air fryer, convection oven). It performs reasonably to very well on all three functions. I really like its functionality, but it has some features that could be better, thus my 4 (vs. 5) star rating. 1. OVERALL DESIGN (4 pts) PROS: (1) You get a lot of bang for the buck in a reasonably effective multi-functional unit that doesn't take up a lot of counter-space. (2) Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use on all tree functions. (3) It has a safety feature warning if the cooked item is very hot. (4) It has an additional safety feature to keep little children from accidentally (or intentionally) opening it. CONS: (1) The labels on the selection buttons are grey on black, making them hard to read unless you are at eye level--I've had a few mishaps pressing the wrong button. (2) The instructions and controls are not as intuitive as they should be, so there's a bit of a learning curve. 2. MICROWAVE 4 pts): PROS/CONS: (1) It does a decent job for typical microwaving jobs: Warming food, cooking veggies, heating coffee, etc.. (2) But unlike inverter microwaves, which produce power continuously at the selected level, the GE cycles between high and off for levels below 100%. This makes it a bit tricky for softening butter, etc. (for that purpose, run it at its lowest level or use the oven function). 3. AIR FRYER (5 pts). PROS: I'm a convert! (1) I have used it to cook chicken, and salmon fillets. The results are evenly cooked and super tender-juicy, and the salmon comes out nice and flaky. Haven't tried it on other foods, but first impressions are that it should work quite well. (2) The provided pan and rack is well designed, and the pan is easy to clean; The pan easily accommodates 4-5 chicken thighs or several salmon fillets. MINOR CON: Because this is a relatively small unit, and the crisper rack is pretty high, you have to be very careful when removing the crisper pan to check the progress, use a meat thermometer, etc.. It gets very hot. 4. CONVECTION BAKING (4-5 pts.). PROS: (1) Haven't used it much, but its very handy for baking frozen lasagna, etc.. (2) It has a combo microwave-baking function that uses both modes to speed up cooking. FINAL WORD: Despite the annoyances mentioned above, I highly recommend this device if you use if mainly for small jobs and don't want to clutter your counter space with three separate units. ... show more

    • Great, great, did I sat Great reliable quiet little microwave at a bargain price

My home came with GE Cafe appliances -- supposed to be an upgraded line for GE products -- sorry to say my GE microwave during a 3 year period needed repairs multiple times -- the LED screen replaced twice and the door switch system replaced-- a full new replacement for the GE Cafe goes for around $1000 -- ouch! For $179 this GE microwave looks almost identical -- same stainless steel and glass, same LED panel -- one problem, 1 inch smaller chassis width. I found a way to reframe our expensive Cafe enclosure to look like the 1 inch smaller microwave fits and esthetically looks the same -- and it has been working like a champ and also has an air fryer that my CAFE model didn't have -- it's quieter and has the same wattage power -- my repaired CAFE is sitting in a box in storage now -- when I sell the house it might go back into the enclosure but the $179 GE microwave is working perfectly like a champ so it has taken over the space once held by the unreliable GE CAFE Microwave. ... show more
