  • WOW! New World for Cooking
Size: OLD 1.0 Cu. Ft
We killed our other microwave last month. I had toyed with getting an air fryer but we don't have much counter space. Enter the AirFry/Microwave combos. I grabbed this one because of the many things it does and the many fine reviews. It measures up to all its tasks. The microwave function itself has come a long way. So even cooking and quiet. Love that the turntable is connected to a piece that is attached to the bottom. No more having the turntable flopping off until you get it lined up with those little nubs. It has less power than our previous microwave but it cooks faster and much more evenly. I just tried the air fry setting and it is a new world.. Perhaps all of them cook chicken breast pieces to this level of tenderness but I was amazed at the flavor and how crisp they were after 5 minutes. I have not tried the broil feature yet nor have I tried toast. That heat element does work with the air fryer so I will assume it has those things well. I guess since it has the brroiler feature that that is why it has the extra insulation. Very easy to clean after it has been on. One good surprise after another. Quiet and competent. The only thing I would have liked would have been some kind of manual to use if you have never done convection or air fry. I would also add what others have added: the controls are a bit hard to see. I will write them up and tape them somewhere on the side. Other than that I am very happy with the price and the performance as well as the size for what it holds. It is a keeper. ... show more

  • Good microwave
Size: Child-Lock Technology 1.0 Cu. Ft.
So far it works very well as a microwave. Pretty easy clean up not like our old GE convection/Microwave combo. It is smaller than what we're used to, less wide and not as tall/high. The noise level is about the same, the glass plate stays in place, food heats up really well, maybe because it's smaller(?) I can see the same problem as our old one with the light. It is very difficult to change the bulb when it burns out. Otherwise, for the price it's a good value. Convection works well, should use lower temperature to bake since food browned before cooked through. First time baking had a funny smell after that it seemed ok. Happy with purchase. ... show more

  • Great for small spaces
Size: OLD 1.0 Cu. Ft
I needed to replace my old microwave, and in comparing features and prices I came cross this model. Not only did it tick all the boxes (easy to use, good features & reviews), it also works as an air fryer and convection oven. I don’t have a big kitchen, so having a micro with all these features was a plus. The manufacturer website linked on Amazon had great videos and explanations on how to use the oven, too. This microwave is compact and sleek. The microwave works well, and I finally got the courage to try the air fryer feature and it was great. This oven comes with two racks and a no-stick pan. Another reviewer remarked that the control pad is not backlit, making it necessary to use your phone light if it’s dark. I have to agree. Backlighting that pad would make this a perfect review. Otherwise, this is well-made and has great features. ... show more

  • Worth it once all is well.
Size: OLD 1.0 Cu. Ft
I have now only had a fully formed one of these for about 16 hours after a week of ...a lot of dumb. The one piece important item to pass on to you from that is to verify the mica heatwave guard is intact on the right of the machine. Be careful and do not tear it. Why? -Ge does not make the part for it. They'll talk about ordering another size you can cut down but won't verify it's the same material. - They'll also say you can use it without this guard, but don't do this without research first. What I've found is this little piece of mica paper protects your machine and makes it last exponentially longer. - They'll say 3rd party will negate the warranty while recommending you run it without. - Their CSRs are actually quite nice. It's just the company policy is terrible. (My opinion on this is anger. A whole microwave should not be trashed due to a piece that's built to be replaced....) I digress. Yea, I've only had it for 16 hours but I've run its paces to make sure nothing else is wrong. (I've been through a number of these now due to missing or damaged parts. Fyi: I was doing open box excellent/like new from all companies I was working with so I would not assume this is a base issue with GE but an issue with returned items not receiving a proper inspection for damage or missing items.) Now. Finally, what I think of it. Yall, I've never spent more than $50 on a Microwave. Granted, the original one I spent $50 would be more lile $100 now due to inflation but still. Considering you can buy a decent airfryer or convection toaster oven for under $100... this product is still more money... BUT as long as it is large enough for you (you can look up specs and the full user manual on GEs website...The full manual teaching you how to use it does not come in the box. It only gives you SOME direction. ) It's worth it. Why? I now have ONE device instead of three. It lives up to it's name. For those of us that have tiny/efficiency kitchens this is HUGE. This alone makes it worth its weight in gold. It works. The baking function works. The air fry function works...and I've never had or used anyone else's microwave where the popcorn function didn't under or overcook popcorn....Even IT works Yes, the buttons are not lit ...so place it at eye height, somewhere well lit...or get one of those USB strip lights to mount next to it. But tbh... 300 more for lit buttons (based on reading reviews of other similar products) just doesn't cut it. There's some great videos out there comparing different 3 in 1s and I feel like this one is being underserved for the more expensive ones. Which I'd hope for 150% price increase to be... 150% better... but I'm unsure what this thing would have to do better for that to be the case. (Other than needing a larger oven.) All in all...even if you struggle financially if you can find a way to squeeze it... do it. Potentially buy a warranty for it if that's the case? They're fairly cheap for a 2 year... I did. For GE if you need to warranty through them it's a 6 to 8 week process. Yike. Idk about y'all but I can't be without my main cooking source for that long. I purchased from Best Buy in the end (while at one point I had purchased from Amazon) and their warrenty was like...$25. Worth. It. And final note on the mica boards: I bet 3rd party mica boards are fine for some day when mines old and yucked to simthereens.... and then I'll use one of those to keep this thing going as it'll likely be well beyond warranty by that point. If you're having trouble with your microwave definitely look in to these items instead of replacing your microwave... but if you want to replace it. Consider this. ... show more

  • Great product!
Size: Child-Lock Technology 1.0 Cu. Ft.
Bought one to replace an older, less powerful microwave and have enjoyed its potential so far. I haven't needed to use my oven since the purchase, with only the occasional stove-top use. Really, the only thing this is missing to complete an all-in-one, single-cooking setup is a hot plate and slow cooker. The convection is fantastic, works almost as well as my sous vide, and the beeps are loud enough to alert from several rooms away. This air fries using convection + broiler at a close distance which may require close attendance to avoid your food from burning--although it does provide a pause midway for rotation. There has been minimal to clean from the air fry/convection modes. After almost a year of owning one, I bought a second for my parents. If only GE would install an induction plate on top of the device, it would be a near perfect all-in-one cooking machine for 2-3 people. ... show more
