  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to assemble
Color: Dark Grey
Some parts were already broken. It’s easy to put together but some parts just not working right. I saw the complaints about this having a SMELL. YES IT DOES SMELL… not sure if this smell is okay for a tortoise. Update: they replace the broken ones, they are easy to deal with. They communicate very well. The smell is still there but it’s not going to affect your pet. But that smell is pretty strong. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars It’s ok for the price
Color: Grey &White
Like: Easy assembly, good size, sturdy wood. Dislike: Strong paint smell but it could’ve used another layer. Latches on front side are plastic.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for my tortoise
Color: Dark Grey
We had our tortoise housed in an appropriate sized aquarium for the longest time. Since she has been in this house she is more active, less bumping into the sides & seems happier. She likes having the dark area to sleep. We have a heat rock in the den area & it stays fairly warm in there all the time. The treats are sturdy & easy to remove if wanted. Assembly was super easy. This is the best house we have had for her. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars It works well
Color: Dark Grey
Nice size. Wood is not the best quality. Our tortoise loves having the two sections to go into. We had to put plastic over the top to keep in the humidity.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great habitat for a Russian Tortoise.
Color: Grey &White
Update 2: Sorry just wanted to put out that neither of the two enclosures smelled when I got them. Mentioning because a number of reviews had that problem. Upate: Finished. Used black duc tape around edges of pan then covered with substrate. Used mending clips to fasten the two boxes together. Two on top (each side) and two on bottom. Hide for sleeping, hybrid hide for eating and bathing also another cool area. Will initially use two basking lamps and one UV. Will monitor temperatures etc to see what adjustments are needed. After completing it all I know move my rating up to 4.8. Also not high grade plexiglass so use nano cloths and mixture of water with a couple of drops of anti bacteria dish soup. Note: Even micro cloths may scratch. I would use the Nano. Really rate this at 4.5. Very easy to put together. Put two together in less than an hour. Only wanted one hide so I removed 2nd doorway to hide. * Note: The section that has doorway is part of the main structure so you can't just remove, but you can take apart by removing plywood doorway then put frame back together so it can support overall structure. It is held together by 4 screws. Remove screws, put a small block of wood inside frame then tap with hammer until sides come a part. A little tight but if your careful it comes a part easily. Then just put the screws back in. * I also removed solid wall panel on 2nd hide and replaced with plexiglass wall that was left over by joining the two boxes. By butting two together you do lose the ability to pull out the two large sliding trays so now making it a little harder to clean, but to me that is not an issue. Easy enough to shovel out substrate, vacuum residue, hand clean then put new substrate in. Issue I have is there is a good size gap on each of size of tray whereby substrate can fall out on the table. Again large trays are now stationary and can't be removed. Haven't figured out what I want to do with the gap issue yet. Thinking about using caulking tape on sides to seal it. This will allow me to add more substrate so my Russian can dig. May have to do in his hide as well because he likes to dig in at night. Overall great product, not as sturdy as it could be, but I added some extra wood screws to strengthen up a couple areas. Understand the easy cleanup concept manufacturer was going for but butting two together creates a minor issue of cleanup which I thinking sealing gaps and just clean as outlined above will resolve. Have them butted up to each other, but I haven't added the mending plates yet, will do that when I finish cleaning the boxes up and sealing up sides then placing on tables I put together for it. Definitely a recommended buy. Main reason I purchase this item was because I wanted see throughs and waterproof pans. Have a Zoo Med Tortoise House now but didn't like wood bottom so I had to add a waterproof liner which my Russian regularly destroys i.e. he is a digger, also didn’t like that my Tortoise couldn't see out. Mine does interact with us so see throughs are important. I went ahead and cut the Zoo Med box down by removing the hide section and I now have a 24 x 24 travel box which works great for short trips and/or stays at our local kennel. Really for the price it is a good product. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good product (TOP NOT ON)
Color: Grey &White
This is very cute and affordable. You do have to assemble it yourself but it doesn’t not take long or have many pieces. You need to have a screw driver and drill. Drill to attach top piece on.

Color: Dark Grey
High quality wood and materials... clear instructions. Took 20 minutes to assemble with the assistance of a powered screw driver. Turtles love their new outdoor crib.
