  • Great Little Water Heater!
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
This is my THIRD tankless water heater replacement for my tiny house shower! I've used two different brand water heaters prior to buying this one. BOTH of those water heaters were more expensive than this Gasland water heater and BOTH have failed me! Then I came across this water heater by Gasland (Gasland 1.58GPM 6L Outdoor Portable Propane Gas Tankless Water Heater). It was very easy to install and I just vented it through my existing vent pipe I had for my previous water heater and it works great! Great water pressure too! I didn't use the cheaply made hand-held shower wand that this water heater came with; I used my existing one that I had purchased from a hardware store that I've used with my previous hot water heaters. I have a 12 volt water pump I use with my system; and, I guess my previous issues with the two previous water heaters was the water pressure, or the lack thereof, that the water heaters needed. This water heater (the Gasland) seems to be designed specifically for my 12 volt off grid set up. I ran this heater under a 20 minute test right after my install to see if the water pressure and/or water temps varied any like the other two heaters did. It stayed steady as advertised and there was NO fluctuation in water pressure nether! Even my lights in the bathroom stopped "flickering" with this water heater and that is BEFORE I decided to install a small pressurized water tank to improve my water flow! I was amazed by this product's performance! I'm building a second cabin; and if this water heater continues to perform the way it is now, I WILL be buying a second one for my other cabin! I highly recommend this water heater over it's competition brands of tankless water heaters! ... show more

  • Amazing little heater!
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
A little tmepermental until you get the hang of the controls. Any air bubbles in the line will cause it to shut off, you have to turn the water Off then it will restart when water starts again. Does get super hot and we had to fiddle with the knobs and figure it out. Happy medium with super cold water (40* thereabouts) heat dial all the way up and water flow 3/4. We have it vented where our old water heater was in our 5th wheel and tied into the camper pipes. Economical temp solution for us, but works like a charm. Good Washing machine hoses from it to fittings on the camper, and propane hose to outside to a tank. Have been using it almost a year now and works like a charm. Cant see buying a rather expensive rv waterheater anytime soon. Kinda temperamental at first but the more you use it you'll get the hang of it. Good water flow a must but as long as theres at least a gallon and a half a min and the unit water flow is set low also - you'll get hot water. Make sure that it's NOT somewhere that it will freeze! ... show more

  • Four years and running strong
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
I love this thing! We have it set up off our back deck so we get out of the hot tub and rinse off outside. We also use it to give our pup a bath. It is super easy to use and works fabulously. One propane tank lasts an amazing amount of time. I would not hesitate a moment to buy this tankless water heater. ... show more

  • Nicest one I've seen but will only raise temp 38 degrees
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
Very well packaged, quality and appearance seem very good. The owners manual was clearer than most, until I was frustrated that it did not show how to attach the shower hose and head. So, I just did what I thought would work, and it did. I was left with a lot of extra hook up parts, as I only use a garden host to the water inlet and did not need them. I used a Triton 5L model prior to this one for seven years, but before winter I failed to properly drain water from it, which ruined it when it froze. BE SURE to drain/dry properly before freezing temps! I believe the manual states it only heats water "up to 38 degrees". Because my well water is around 50, I plan to coil 200' of hose above ground where the sun can pre-heat it to get a hot shower. On cloudy/cooler days, I may skip a full blown shower or just brace for the 88 degree water, which is barely warmer than a high school pool. Price was good, but now I'm wishing I paid a lot more to get hot showers on demand. ... show more

  • Major fire risk
Style: 1.32 GPM/5L
Our water heater on the boat failed so I swapped it out for this one. This is the third gas heater I have installed on the boat as they last about 6 years before the electrical connections corrode and it dies. The install was very uneventful. I use Pex line with quick connect fittings to the unit so swapping is very easy. I selected this unit because it has the same configuration as the last one from front starting at the left side: Gas - Hot water - cold water In next to no time the unit was installed and tested. It worked great but had an issue with the water detection. Sometimes it would start the gas even though the only faucet opened was the cold water one. It started the gas and quickly stopped. I figured it was just false detecting. We set out on our trip. My one week off per year I go fishing with the wife. No problems for two days. Then on the third day, I was prepping dinner and I noticed that the water pump was running but no one was using the water. I asked the wife to check the bathroom faucet. Then she screamed. Smoke billowed out of the bathroom. Luckily we had fire extinguishers. The CO2 one stopped the flame but it restarted. We resorted to the dry powder to put it out. That blue stuff in the picture is the residue. The entire boat area was filled with the blue powder. yes I know you shouldn't use dry powder indoors, but when you are facing a massive cleanup or a boat sinking in the middle of nowhere due to fire, you use what you can to put the fire out. The picture shows what the issue was. The unit caught fire internally and the paint on the unit kept it burning. I worked out what happened. The unit turned on the gas even though there was no hot water faucet opened. This caused the water to boil and pressurize the water system. This then burst the hose and caused our pump to detect a pressure drop and turned on because it thought a faucet was open. Thankfully we heard the pump or this situation could have been catastrophic. Imagine it happening at night while we were sleeping! Closer examination revealed that the gas inlet connection was damaged on the seal end and someone had put a glue/sealer on the threads to prevent the gas leaking. I have no idea if this was done at the factory or this unit was returned. Needless to say, it gets a one star review for nearly setting fire to our boat and sinking it in the middle of nowhere. One vacation cancelled, a huge mess to clean up. Completely and utterly not recommended. ... show more
