    • Tight fit
I bought this 2 years ago and have used it for kayak fishing as well as ice fishing. Originally just had it setup in an ammo can. It works great the only issue I had was it being too tight took a bit of force to get it off sometimes almost pulling the unit out of the holder. It's pretty solid though and I don't worry about anything damaging the screen with this on. Just may need tweaking. But I ended up using a box cutter and trimming up the 4 tabs on top and bottom a little at a time to loosen up how tight it fits. It is now easily removable but still tight enough it won't just come off. Well worth the investment just incase you drop it or transducer comes loose and hits it or whatever may happen. ... show more

    • Perfect fit for Striker 4
This cover fits the Striker 4 like a glove. Like others have said, once it is snapped in place it is somewhat difficult to remove. This is primarily due to the fact the fishfinder does not have a surface to grip while pulling the cover off from the bottom. The back of the cover has two tabs on top and two on the bottom, which align with recesses on the back of the fishfinder, which secures the cover. I simply filed the two bottom tabs only, to about half the length. The cover now still snaps on and tightly secured, and a lot easier to remove. First off, I did not read the reviews of this product since it was an add-on to the Striker 4 Fish Finder made by the same company. I assumed it would fit nice, look good, and there would be no issues. It’s a great cover made entirely of hard plastic and it fits the Striker 4 (not the plus model). It actually fits so well that you would never want to take it off, because you literally can’t. I cannot imagine the struggle it takes for kayak fisherman to get this cover off while they’re out in the water. I have a 14ft boat that’s kind of tippy and I could only get this cover off by removing the fish finder from the mount itself. It’s an unnecessary hassle that takes away from any day out fishing. Now a lot of people say to file down the little plastic lips that “clip” the cover onto the fish finder, but it sucks damaging a brand new product. So I found an INCREDIBLE solution that works. All you need is a little piece of wood (or whatever hard material you prefer) and some tape. In my photos you can see that the piece of wood is taped on the bottom part of the cover and that it has a snug fit between the two little plastic lips that clip to the fish finder. The goal here is to simply prevent the clipping action from taking place because that’s what makes it so difficult to remove. By adding this little piece of wood to the bottom, the cover will only slide onto the fish finder instead of clip. It also won’t slide off easily because it’s a really tight fight and overall it just makes it 10x easier to remove. In order to remove, you just put one hand on the back of the fish finder (for support) and then lift off the cover by the bottom with your other hand. That’s the best solution I could think of. And if it doesn’t work for some odd reason, you’re not really out anything because it’s just some tape and a piece of wood. The cover itself isn’t damaged in any way, so it’s definitely worth trying. ... show more

Cover is durable, looks well made. Too bad I ordered the wrong one for mine and this one is too small. But non the less it is a very nice cover and I gave it to a kid who has the standard striker 4 and he loves it

    • Exactly What I wanted
I had to replace my last depth/fish finder on my boat because water got into the old one. I did not have a cover on the old depth finder. The Garmin Striker 4 unit was recommended. This time around I wanted a cover to hopefully prevent water from getting into it. I have a dash mount that is flush/flat to the dash so I was looking for a cover that would work. Many of the silicone covers wrap around the back. The Garmin cover does not wrap. It goes on and is flush to the dash. I am very happy with this cover. Yes it can be difficult to remove but since my unit is screwed into the dash, it does pop off with just a little effort. I like the snug fit because I do not want water getting into my unit. ... show more
