    • Useful garden tool
This edger is great because it's pointed in the middle and deep, and sharp, and easily cuts through even compacted soil. It's a more effective design than the rounded edgers, IMO.

I used this to clean up my prior edge in the backyard after grass & weeds had grown over during the fall and spring. It is sturdy and works well. FYI...it works better when your soil is moist. My first 8 feet were done in 2 days because the dirt was dry and had no give to it. A drenching rain help to make the soil looser. I got the remainder of the outside cut done my small yard done in about an hour this morning. I'll tackle the rest later. I'm 70 and have osteoarthritis and a replaced knee. So, it's a bit slower going for me than it would be for others. The weight is good. The blade is sturdy enough to stand on and rock back and forth. The size is good for me, too.
