This seems like a sturdy rake. I had gotten another one of these rakes that you have to put together last year that fell apart at the handle in one use. I doubt I will have an issue with this one. The part that connects to the rake itself is connected with a screw, and the rest of the handle pieces screw in together. Everything seems to be tight and should not just fall apart like my old one did. The rake seems sturdy, although I will only be using it for a small garden patch to rake up pinestraw and leaves, so I cannot say how it will do for larger yards. Our current yard is a mess! Dead grass, leaves everywhere, and lots of weeds. Our rake was good but I needed something sturdier to also catch our weeds. Not gonna lie, I was a little irked that this needed to be assembled and I already gave this 4 stars in my head, but it was honestly pretty easy and straight forward it only took a couple minutes. Once it was assembled it felt really sturdy! What sold me was that it also caught a lot of crab grass roots! Holy smokes, this is a game changer for me! the square headed screws to hook the rake tines to the handle were NOT included so the rake could not be. Put together OR used!

I wanted this rake as a back saver. At 72", when you use all the extensions, you can maintain an upright body position while raking. I don't think I'll ever use my old rake again! It's shipped in a small box and assembly is quite easy. Seems plenty sturdy enough. I'm able to dig in and put pressure on it just like I would with a wooden handle. The width is comparable to what you would find in your hardware or big box store. The tines look like they have a thick coating on them to retard rust. It's a winner in every aspect! ... show more

We used this rake for a recent gardening project. The tines are strong and spaced just right. The width of the rake is ideal, and the adjustable handle length is wonderful! I can adjust it for my height and my taller husband can adjust it for his height. The handle is secure and doesn’t slip when using it. We can rake with confidence. This is a simple but sturdy rake. It comes unassembled but has clear instructions and can be thrown together in well under five minutes. I used it for leaves and it works just as expected for a rake.
